I know that Adi told Anushka that she was not beautiful. But then was it really only down to him that she did the surgery? She did 5 films with YRF without having anything done. If Adi thought she was so bad looking wouldn't he have demanded her to go for surgery before giving her those films? It was after JTHJ she did the surgery and she hasn't even worked with YRF since.

On the one hand based on the explanation that Anushka has given for her lip enhancement procedure it was entirely her decision, and she didn't even do it for a YRF. On the other hand I have no way of knowing that Adi telling her she wasn't beautiful didn't affect her to the point of wanting to do anything to prove herself outside of YRF. Know what I mean?


Ultimately it is each person's decisions, and you are right that the entire industry judges them very harshly in every area including their looks. But there seems to be this understood and even accepted thing that Adi Chopra basically expects his own version of Barbie dolls and that due to his position in the industry has enough psychological influence over most of his new protgs that they want to do it.
