| Kahani Kiran Ki!! [20 Aug 2007]

Kiran Karmarkar, who became famous playing the character of Om Agarwal in Balaji's Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki but later left due to stagnation, is all set to return to the show. Kiran has already met Balaji's czarina Ekta Kapoor and now writers are busy devising ingenuous ways to get him into the serial. Ekta has told the writers to come up with a very strong reason to show the justification for bringing him back in the show. As a source from Balaji says, ' It's a two way situation. We wanted Kiran back in the show and he too needed the work. You can not have Parvati (Sakshi Tanwar) carrying all the scenes. Even Tulsi needs Mihir in Kyunki…. When he left, he said he was stagnating. Now that he has been eliminated from Sony's Comedy Circus, he's realized that there is nothing better than Kahanii for him.' It may be recalled that Kiran will be returning to Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki after a break of two years. And during these two years he has worked in Smirti Irani's Thodi Si Zameen, Thoda Sa Aasman and Ajai Sinha's Ghar Ek Sapna. But things were not working out well for him and that forced him to return. |

| | | | PARVATI KAHAN HO TUM? Kiran Karmarkar | Ekta Kapoor has a penchant for bringing back the dead in her shows. The latest to return is Kiran Karmarkar, who will reprise his role as Om Agarwal in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii (Star Plus) after two years.
Says an insider, "It's a two- way situation. We wanted Kiran back in the show and he too needed the work. You can't have Parvati (Sakshi Tanwar) carrying all the scenes. Even Tulsi needs Mihir in Kyunki."
Good explanation
It is learnt that Kiran too is keen to return after exploring life outside Balaji. "When he left, he said he was stagnating. Now that he's been eliminated from Sony's Comedy Circus, he's realised that there's nothing better than Kahaani for him," adds the source, "though he has been pursuing theatre."
Kiran was spotted at Balaji House (Andheri) on Thursday (presumably to meet Kapoor), followed by another meeting with the show's writers on Saturday. The writers have been told to come up with a very solid explanation for Om's return in Kahaanii.
Since leaving Kahaani, Kiran has done Smriti Iraani's Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aaasmaan and Ajai Sinha's Ghar Ek Sapna. On the big screen, Kiran has done brief roles in Deepak Balraj's Sai Baba, Esmayeel Shroff's Thoda Tum Badlo Thoda Hum Badle and Meghna Gulzar's Just Married.
It seems director Vipul Shah tried to help Kiran by referring his name to several filmmakers in Bollywood. However, most of them already had films in production and asked him to wait out the year before approaching them again.
When asked about his return to Kahaani, Kiran is shocked that we know about his meetings with Balaji. He says, "This is news to me. I wouldn't like to say anything on this please."
However, his wife Rinku (who played Chaya in Kahaani), admits that she went to Balaji House on Thursday. "But I went to Balaji to meet a friend," she laughs.
| Peeping Tom on Kahaani sets!
Subhash K Jha hitlist@mid-day.com A production hand was caught peeping into the changing room of one of the actresses (name withheld) on Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii.
The incident took place on Saturday at a studio in Saki Naka. Says a source, "It's shocking. This guy was trying to peep at her actress from the air-conditioner duct.
She sensed something was wrong and immediately went into the other room and caught the guy red-handed."
Shooting then came to a standstill when the shaken actress ran sobbing to the production controller.
When Ekta Kapoor heard about the incident, she was livid. Says the source, "No one at Balaji is allowed to misbehave with a woman. The Peeping Tom was immediately handed over to the police and he's now cooling his heels in jail."
