No they did actually leave for different reasons.

KSG never said anything about leaving due to characterisation or storylines. I remember the articles coming out when KSG left saying that he'd been supposedly fired because he'd been unprofessional and hadn't been shooting and he said something along the lines of he quit and that at the start of the show he supposedly made it clear he'd only stay for a year and then move on but he stayed on because Vikrant had just recently left too but then he got ill and needed some tests done and couldn't come to shooting.

He gave a very long explanation with a website but never mentioned character or storylines so it's safe to assume that wasn't the case with him unlike KV. So their leaving is two very different reasons.
