The question is I guess what the threshold for thirst of survival to wipe away the fear of change and even death in this case. Maybe it is the "humanity" of Khushi's reaction (which largely amounts to hesitation and the inability to see do or die decision that such situations pose) that is also part of the race's survival process? You know, to preserve "humanity" in all of its essence not just the continuity of existenceAh I have so much work and I am rambling here...Sorry sorry - I am running away!
Its the inability. Its the fear of becoming a monster. Its lack of flight or fight response. Its everything that makes a human today however flawed it may sound.
You are right - existence is one thing. Would we recognize ourselves if we lose what makes us humans?
On the other hand, maybe we should lose a bit of social evolution that has happened over last century. Not everything humanity has changed into is good.
Rambling is good :=)
