Reading part 22 my mind goes to the so called holy men these days, who are trying to teach people according to their own knowledge gain by reading books. All of them trying fool that they are true holy men and had direct connection with gods.
No offence but I really don't like these men who are taking advantages of innocent people, who went to them in search of god and what they do they confused them more. If they had found god they would have not been sitting here.
In story also this holy man might be a good man just trying to help people calm down. Khushi being kind hearted support him but arnav don't .
But I would like to know if he is right, what god have in his mind for arnav and Khushi.
Story us going great. Thanks for update.

The majority of us always need to believe that there is an explanation, however nebulous, as to why things happen. And more so why to me. That belief, that there is a higher power orchestrating things, is sometimes enough to appease our bewilderment.

So, is the Godman providing solace or pandering to his own ego?

I took a night off as I went to the premiere of Cinderella yesterday and that too just with my hubby, no kids in tow. Not my favorite movie but doing the wifely duty of accompanying my husband to his company's dos. Yes, Cinderella was there in person and looked so perky and happy. It made me think how children easily falls into these fantasy land dreams while me as an adult keep looking for something else, like why she is not fighting the evil stepmother and sisters. (Btw, for all you Games of Thrones fans, Prince Charming is Robb Stark)
So when I think of this update, I think of the holy man trying to give hope to the survivors and strengthening their confidence to keep going and fighting for the human race. I think of Kushi as Cinderella, full of hope and looking for the positive signs while I side with the jaded Arnav who is not trusting anyone anymore. Holy men in the modern times (not all of them as it would be unfair to generalize), have found a way to take advantage of the believers, those whose faith will not weaken even in the bleakest days where they see God as the saviour while everything is falling apart around them. They can manipulate these people to their advantage (I think of the young kids stupidly believing in gaining entry to paradise if they were to kill non-believers, I think of child abuse by church leaders, I think of the sects where parents are sacrificing their kids and willing to give up their lives for afterlife, etc . . . ). I am not an atheist as I sincerely do believe that there is something bigger than us out there. If this holyman is sincere, he will help them adapt their religious beliefs and philosophies to their current situation and use that as their hope. I truly do believe that religions are meant to evolve and be adapted to the times that people are living in. This is why I think that most holy books are in prose form, for each individual to take what will be useful to them in their life and definitely not meant to be used word for word. Times change, people change, society change and evolution is key to survival. Being stuck in the same rut as in the stone ages will not get you anywhere as we can see in real life.

I am sorry that I went completely off topic but your 100 words really have a way to make me think hard. I hope you know how much I enjoy these along with the readers feedback too. It just stimulates the brain. So please do not stop writing these.

"We are nature's abomination." ⭐️
Can we get a a sneak-peek of Arnav's "An Atheist's Survival Guide"?

# 22 reminded me of Agent Smith's monologue...and since I have nothing better to say, I decided to quote it here: (I am so watching this movie again, tonight!)

Agent Smith: I'd like to share a revelation that I've had, during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species. I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You move to an area, and you multiply, and multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet, you are a plague, and we are the cure.

Completely forgot that quote and yes we do that don't we? Take and take and then move on somewhere else where we can repeat the same damage. I fear God has given us too much intelligence that we use for our own destruction.

Awful isn't it how I automatically jumped to the wrong weapon? I think I have been watching too many Hollywood movies.

This line says it all. Khushi is down with guilt and IRS human nature time feel so.
The man died saving her act because he chose his dust to protect rather then running away saving his life. Which is also human nature. But so different.

Loved it.

The man died doing his duty. The world cannot be black and white by saying he is dead because he was doing his duty. Or he is alive because she picked a gun and shot some zombies. Its far more complex than that. People are more complex than that. I wanted to show that such a complexity exists and its not always that clinical with people.

Thanks :)

We are here because we have something within or we are here because someone has something for us to do. It depends on where you place that elusive "control" Different races have taken different attitudes towards this. Is it okay to scoff at the other because you believe in right and wrong? Is one right and the other wrong, in the first place

The lack of that final answer is I think what propels humanity when all else is stable. In this situation specifically though, to each his own, maybe? The race probably needs that mix to retain some essentially defining elements while pruning out everything else

It is perspective. As long as it doesn't come in the way of other people.

When this "perspective" becomes matter of state (law of the land), then there is a problem. Its not about right and wrong. Its about impact these words have in society as a whole. I have no problem with these holy men asking people to implore themselves to find a footing - to find some sort of solace in times such as these. It is however a problem when he starts to lead the entire society for an agenda that may not be acceptable by all.

It's so interesting how people has to change according to the change. Like Khushi learns how to shoot gun, even kill one zombie. Had she ever thought of doing this in her life before disaster? No.

One should change according to changing time or you are going to fall behind.
Brilliant update.

Change is good. But change is also slow. A person who has seen positivity in her life, seen life for what it has to offer than how f**ked up it can be - its not very easy to live in a world full of zombies. And become a soldier for the sake of survival.

It is in human nature to grasp a flimsy thread of hope when all hope is lost. If there is a man trying to tell you that there is a reason for you to be alive and not the rest of your family, in an emotional crisis - you will probably listen.

I am not sure if I want this holy guy to be around. Religion in postapocalyptic world is definitely enticing to write.
