Anyway, this is a TS on Pragya getting shot, and the emotional trance that it puts our rockstar in. Hope you enjoy it!

The sun rays were directly seeping in from between the two giant pillars of the building which was under construction. The walls weren't made yet, just the cement floor and the ceiling, and the construction was on hold - probably for the cement to tighten in the sun. It was located in the deserted hilly side beyond Powai.
It was a breezy afternoon and he could feel the gentle wind touch his face - it was the only pleasant feeling especially after all the running, in the otherwise not so pleasant current surrounding of the nation's only rockstar - Abhi.
As he stood there, at the very edge, on the tenth floor - hands tied with ropes, above his head, he swayed a little - every time his frame swayed outside in the gentle breeze, he could hear her whimper in fearful anticipation. She was tied to a pole to his far opposite, she had somehow managed to kneel down on the floor - he could make out only her silhouette against the harsh sunlight filtering in from behind her. He tried to gauge her expression every time she whimpered for him, but damn the sunlight.
No, these two weren't the only ones in the frame - even though Abhi's mind just focused only on so much for the time being. Encircling her in stealthy pace was Neil, the corporator and scattered around were his hounds. He was hovering around Pragya and traumatising her.
"Look at you arrogant rockstar! He just can't accept defeat can he? Rather die than bend my head - that's his motto right? Well then he will have it his way" said Neil silkily to a tear stricken and struggling Pragya.
"NO! Leave him alone! How can you be so ruthless" shrieked Pragya.
"Or...hmmm..that seems plausible too..you are man and wife right? Society considers you one. Maybe you can beg and apologize before me? I will count that as his. See I am not that ruthless after all"
"Pragya NO. You will not apologize or beg for my life before him! I forbid you to stoop before this miserable embarrassment to mankind" screamed Abhi from the other end. He swayed outside even more horribly at this.
Neil smirked at this, "Ah rockstar, wifey is in no mood to follow your bidding isn't it? Now with every apology she puts before me, it will each be a blow on your ego and pride..perfect..the perfect humiliation before your death."
"No. Please please please leave him. I will apologize to you, you hate me right? Abhi has been involved in all this because of me, he was never directly related to this - please leave him. I beg of you" pleaded a helpless Pragya
"No, Pragya it's not worth it. Keep quiet. He will not kill me"
"No Abhi, I cannot risk it. I always want to see you win, but if you're victory costs you your life, I would gladly see you defeated."
"And I haven't heard enough begging yet Pragya ji" softly put in Neil.
"Neil, please, I beg of you, I will do all your bidding. Kill me instead if needed, but let him free. Please don't harm Abhi, let him go. I promise on his behalf that he will not put you behind the bars - just let him free please. I apologize for being the hindrance in your life, I will do what it takes to redeem all this - please let my husband go"
Neil laughed cruelly, and Abhi struggled at his spot, seeing Pragya so vulnerable before such a disgusting man. But before anyone could answer, one of Neil's accomplices informed him that someone had come to meet him. Abhi saw the look that crossed the corporator's face - Abhi realized he was not the only one against them - Neil had a boss, but who?
Neil hurriedly ran down the steps and disappeared from view. Abhi stared after him pondering who the visitor could be? Did he know him? Was he a rival? Maybe another of Pragya's enemy? Nah. What are the chances that fuggy would have a fearful personal enemy? She was too nave to have one - a chuckle escaped Abhi.
"You find something funny here too?" he heard her question from her spot.
"I am trying to deal with him to save your life and you are looking for humour here too? What is so funny?"
Abhi didn't answer. He just tried to get a better glimpse of the wife he never accepted as his. The woman who has left no stones unturned to irritate the life out of him. If he asked her to go right, she would invariably go left. If he asked her to look up, she would look down. He would say East, and she would say West - in the eight months of their marriage, not even for once did she give in before him, but today, here, she was giving in before the worst kind of human like Neil - for him. For him? It didn't make sense. His fuggy and her actions always startled him. Silly fuggy!
"Hey, are you angry with me? I am sorry I didn't listen to you, I begged before him. But if it wasn't for your life, I ---"
"No fuggy, it's not that. I was just wondering..." sighed Abhi.
"Wondering that?" she replied with unmistakable curiosity, which brought a smirk on the rockstar's face.
"Wondering how inattentive you are fuggy! Arre couldn't you hear his offer carefully before dealing?"
"Huh? What did I do?"
"Dumbo, he wasn't giving a choice between killing either of us, he was deciding whom to kill first! And you rambled on about killing you instead', couldn't you ask him to kill you first'?"
"Arre, first toh I am trying to make him drop the idea of killing you at all, and now you're throwing attitude for queueing issues? ABHI!"
"Oyi, if you talk too much, I will punch you off this floor. Hmph."
As the banter continued, Neil came back and ordered his men to bring Abhi away from the edge and let them be for the night. Before anyone could question further, he left and his men scattered around on the floor making themselves comfortable.
As for Abhi and Pragya, they were back to being tied next to each other glaring away.

"Uff fuggy, can't you send these mosquitoes away? I hate their constant humming and bites! I can't get to sleep"
"Oh, I am so sorry dear husband for letting the mosquitoes trouble you thus - In case you haven't noticed, even my hands are tied to this stupid pole. Hmph."
"So what? Talk to them, explain the situation!"
"Talk?!!?! To mosquitoes??"
"Yeah, try at least, they might consider you one of them and might cooperate! You are tiny, light, irritating, and guess what you can even bite (with your words)..try citing a tragic accident for the cause of your loss of wings - they might just believe you!" chuckled Abhi
"And you? What about you? You're a rockstar! Hum your silly tunes and they might get impressed and become your fans and leave you!"
"Don't insult my fans! They can do anything for me! Silly fuggy!"
"Acha if only your fans can do anything for you, then call them nah, and ask them to save you!"
"Who needs fans for that. You are there nah. You will save me" the words escaped Abhi before his mind could process. It came out as a response in their banter but, the moment it escaped his lips, something stalled him. He was surprised to see the amount of trust and faith he had unintentionally placed on Pragya. It wasn't there before, when did he develop it? He looked at her uncertainly, in the darkness of the night he could see her features clearly, but he could make out her lowered eyes, and he could imagine a faint blush. He shook his head, what was he thinking?

When Neil came back to the sight in the morning, he felt accomplished. He had successfully erased and nullified all of Aaliyah's proofs and also caused her a minor accident. She was now safely tucked in a hospital bed with sufficient sedatives. He decided to first clear off Abhi and Pragya's chapter and then deal with her. But he was not in the mood for games today. He knew Aaliyah and it was only for a short while he could leash her - he had to complete his job here before she gained consciousness.
He turned to his men and asked them to untie the duo and secure the steps area. Once untied, Abhi took hold of Pragya's hand and checked all the periphery around him, he understood he couldn't jump of course and turned back to see Neil standing with a gun pointing at the duo and waiting patiently with an angelic smile on his face. As they both held hands and faced him, somewhere deep down both felt their game was up.
