I agree with Anu and Varun said. Being a star kid can help you get jobs.. but at the end of the day it's hard work and talent that makes you stay.

I don't get what Kangana is complaining about. If her Gangster film went unnoticed..She had Queen and Fashion and was appreciated for her performance. I get it she does struggle getting the top films other big stars get...but she is doing fine where she is..and she should be thankful for that! There are star kids like Esha Doel and Kajol's sister who would wish to be at her positition...but their family name and friends didn't do much for them. Am not saying Kangana shouldn't talk about nepotism but she should also be thankful.

The star kids might get hyped up for their first film (Ranbir, Aila, Varun, Kareena) but they had to prove themselves after their first film just like anyone else and they get bashed just as much if not more when there films flop or they give a bad performance.

Just like Anu said...the non star kids don't have pressure and they are the under dogs because the media usually focuses on star kids. No one expects anything from them.

Yea but that is very minor struggle compared to non-star kids. I mean most struggling actors will kill to get as many opportunities as them. Look how many movies Esha Deol got, they get chances after chances to prove themselves versus the average actor who can barely get a commercial.

I like most star kids but criticism is a part of the business, everyone has to prove themselves. Them complaining about this just makes them look like spoiled brats. Abhi even address this in an old interview but he was smart to follow it up with its useless to complain about it since its not much of struggle.

I think years ago Abhishek said that he knows he's gotten a lot of the chances and opportunities he has because of his last name. That is honestly the closest I have ever seen a star kid come to admitting that their last names helped them. Most of them give you the same line that Sonam and Varun did here.

I think the point Rajkumar Rao was making was very valid, and from the perspective of an outsider probably quite depressing as well. The star kid is given opportunity after opportunity because of who their parents are whereas someone with talent has to struggle for years.

As for Kangana specifically, I'm not being facetious here but I would love to read, hear and watch her biography one day. Yes she made a valid point, but I also understand what QE is saying about all the accolades that she does get. I think in her case she does bear a lot of anger and resentment towards the industry or certain section of the industry for everything that she has been through. I think being a woman in some ways she's probably faced a lot more and a lot worse difficulties (putting it mildly here) than Rajkumar Rao. This however is not meant to take away from the specific point she was making about nepotism. I guess what I'm trying to say is that for her it's probably a much more sore subject than others.
