I thought meera had strong faith but just like Koki when things go wrong she abandons it. It's strange that Vidya is now the grounded one out of the two, wonder what she understood from ahem taking them away and gopi not being around anymore.

Her name's Mansi. Still a lot of questions need to be answered yet. But even if this Mansi had such an influence on her, I don't understand how Meera could change so much. It's strange that a 10 year old could be influenced so much, especially as the TM said she went through such bad times during those 8 years away from her family.

There is still a glimpse of the young Vidya in her today as could been seen the way she spoke to the police, but she just seems to have become a lot more reserved. Plus she spent the first 8 years of her life with Gopi, so her influence would not have gone away and I feel her change in character is understandable to an extent.

I wonder what Ahem told Meera and Vidya about Gopi as she did not want them to know about her being in jail. It's very well to say that I don't want them to know, but they were 10 and 8. What did Gopi expect the family to say to them? They would have been 24 and 22 when Gopi released. How would you answer their questions regarding their mother up until that age? Gopi should never have taken that promise from Kokila. She should have told them the truth herself and then supported Ahem and Kokila from jail with helping them deal with it in the best way. I still think Ahem would never have left if it wasn't for that promise.

@bold: That promise had hurt him the most. As for Meera & Vidya's change, it is understandable to an extent. A person keeps changing. If Gopi had left them for 10 years, it is obvious that she has created the gap. It is quite natural that the kids won't have the same respect they had ten years back.

Gopi always underestimate how people will cope, her wrapping them in cotton wool approach doesn't work. Had she told her daughter's why she going away for 10 years they would have accepted, got on with life while waited for her but now they left with assumption she left them and didn't bother to keep contact with them. She was wrong when she didn't tell tolu and molu their mother died until days later and she's wrong now.

Irrespective of the switched characters, Vidya has always been smart & clever. She handled the situation well even when Meera was arrested in drink & drive case.
