Here is the update for today's episode. Apologies if it is garbled in some places but I wanted to include everything. It was worth watching today if only for Ahem's meltdown. Enjoy.
The scene continues on from yesterday with Kokila telling her story of woe and explains how she cannot go back to a house where her two sons do not live together, where her granddaughters no longer live and where her son refuses to set foot, let alone see her face. She tells that a home is made of relationships.
At MB Hetal is getting ants in her pants with excitement and happily makes plans to reopen Kokila's room, get it cleaned and make her favourite halwa. Baa says first of all Hetal should prepare the temple as the first thing Kokila will want to do is to offer prayer to her kanaji. Paridi says that it is not that simple. After all that has happened would Kokila really return to MB. Kinjal here thinks that it is better if Kokila does not come back. 😲 (I was aghast at this. Her mother is living as a pauper while she relaxes in the lap of luxury. How shameful.)
Gopi is shocked and exclaims that Ahem has left her. Kokila eyes Urmila and indicates Dhawal to take her away. Urmila says she will go but that Kokila will not go anywhere. Kokila agrees that she will not go anywhere. Gopi demands answers. Why Ahem has left everything and where did he go? Kokila sinks to the floor. Gopi keeps asking. Kokila tells her that her Ahem left the whole family. That he went very far away from her eyes. Gopi is not ready to accept. Kokila tells her it is true, that he has not been living with them for many years.
Gopi is sitting on the floor with Kokila and asks why if such a thing happened that no one told her. Kokila says that she wanted to tell her, to meet her, hug her, weep and tell her the truth. She says that Gopis has sacrificed a lot for the family and how she was going to see out her sentence if she knew what had happened. Gopi says that she does not understand.
In flashback Gopi's sentence is read out and Gopi is led out of the courthouse. Ahem is angry and hurt. He does not want to look at her. Kokila gives her support and hugs her. Gopi refuses and asks her not to. She makes them promise that no one is to visit her. ( YOU STUPID WOMAN. YOU LAID THE FOUNDATIONS FOR YOUR FUTURE PROBLEMS) Ahem is in turmoil. Kokila tries to reason with her but Gopi takes her promise. Gopi says that she does not want her children to know that she has gone to jail. They all try to make her change her mind but she is adamant. She does not want the family to suffer because of her. She takes Kokila's oath. Grudgingly Kokila agrees. Ahem's anger increases. Gopi asks Ahem to take care of Meera and Vidya. The jailors say that it is time to go. Ahem watches as she is put in the van, then walks away. He is shown angrily thumping the bonnet of his car.
Kokila says that the law saw her as a criminal but she didn't. She was proud of her Gopi vahu but her children made her lower her gaze in shame and she asks that should a child do such a thing to his mother? If a child gets angry and leaves then he will surely come back but Ahem broke all relationships with her. Gopi says that she thought that they had won in Omvinishkar?, that her family has again become united and that it what kept her going? She feared for how Meera and Vidya would go for ten years without their mother but was comforted by the thought that Kokila would be there. Gopi demands to know why he left. Kokila tells her that the reason he left is because of her. Gopi is floored.
In flashback mode Kokila confronts and asks Ahem why he did not see Gopi. Ahem says that there was nothing to say. Gopi had decided and that he does not want Gopi's fake love. He blames Kokila for all that has happened. That since birth he never said no to her. He reckons that he that was his biggest mistake. He wished that he had never agreed to her demands and married Gopi. But she gave her god's responsibility? and now that responsibility has broken up his family. He reminds how he told her time and time again to stay away from Radha, not to interfere in others' business but she did not listen to him and that was because Kokila supported her. He tells her that due to her support that this is the outcome. Kokila tries to make him see that poor Gopi ... He interrupts her and tells that she is not poor Gopi, that not once did she think about him. He is more hurt at the promise that Gopi has taken from them. That she did not think about him, or her daughters at all. Kokila tries to make him understand that Gopi has done it for the good of the family. That she has made such a big sacrifice but he is no mood to listen and says that because of her (Kokila) he has lost his family. What of the sacrifice that he and his daughters are making. Kokila is dumbstruck. Here his frustration and anger come to the fore. He regrets marrying Gopi on Kokila's insistence. That it was yes mom, no mom, three bags full mom. Not once did he refuse her. He says that if Gopi left home after Meera's disappearance, eight years ago it was because she had thrown her out. We suspected that. Then he was not there for Vidya's, who grew up without a father's love. How Meera spent eight years in the wilderness without a family. He berates himself for agreeing to her every demand. That now it is his family who has broken all the time. Gopi may have made a sacrifice but what of him and his daughters? At that moment in time he breaks off all relations with the Modis 😲 and says that he does not even want to see Gopi's face, double 😲😲.
Pre cap. Kokila tells Gopi to stay in MB, that she is to find Ahem and her granddaughters and bring them back to MB and then, only then will Kokila return to the Modi house. Gopi promises that she will find them and bring them back.
And yet again we see the daughter in law charged with bringing the family together. Can't Kokila realise that it was this task to put her 'family' meaning everyone else but her own husband and children, that has led to this scenario.
