like i keep saying i hate writing gang updates but i felt this is required as i hated it that gang neglected her so much. wishful thinking on my part😊

part 5
recap- rey going with sonali to freshers party, gang and taani upset about it.
Rehearsal hall- next morning
The gangs in the hall with vicky and neha standing in front of each other and
fighting, its slowly becoming girls vs boys while swayams trying to maintain peace
Reys not yet come
" ek aur baar all you boys are same kahaan na ...tho main..." vicky
"tho...kya karloge? See im saying phir se- all you boys are the same" neha her
hands on her waist shouted at vicky
" tum log humse kyun fight karrahe ho? Humne kya kiya? " amar
" And rey sirf ek date pe jaarahaan hain bas whats the big deal " nil making simm
hit him
"aaj ka date kal ki girlfriend!" aashi
Rinni sitting on the box stool suddenly," i mean itni jaldi with someone else! Kaise
yaar? Poor taani "
"paagal hain rey !" simmi
"mujhse baat tak nahin ki yesterday "sharon
" aur wo bhi that sonali" simmi and all the girls made a face.
Rey walked in and heard them, all girls looked at him accusingly , guys worried.
He moved to one end, dropped his bag and asked sarcastically ," agar meri love
life ki discussion khatam hogayi hain tho practice shuru karein ?"
"humein nahin karni practice" neha adamantly sat next to rinni
"neha this is ..." swayam began to convince
" fine " rey interrupted and went to his bag," im off...but without practice the
performance s going to be bad and Taani s last assignment as GS will be done
badly...tho you arent helping her aise mujhe boycott karke "
The guys stood still for second and then took their positions , the girls took
another second longer and took position. Swayam smiled in relief and was about
to switch on the music when he spotted- Taani! Itni subah subah
She was looking at rey showing that she had pretty much heard everything ,looked
confused - was he with her or against her? and handing out some papers to
swayam said her voice shaky ," haan ...wo...kuch kaam tha. Ismein aap logon ki
sab duties mention kiya hain, check karlena aur let me know agar kuch confusion
hain tho" they all passed the papers around
"tumne duties daali hain tho of course koi confusion nahin rahegi na taani"
nil said trying to show his support to her in front of girls
Taani continued ," aur junior batch ka elections, party ke do din baad hi hain, so
uska bhi..."
" this doesnt have the activities for election preparation, dono saath mein kyun
hain? " rey looking at paper commented his voice critical," you havent adjusted
that" the gang looked from one to the other
Taani waited a second mentally debating whether to answer him but then with
out turning to him said her voice turning sharp " the other clubs- sports aur
dramatics bhi involved hain , so maine dhruv aur XYZ, MNOP, ABC aur PQRS ko
incharge banaya hain for those activities"
" whats my work? Ismein nahin hain" rey interrupted his anger at dhruv being
mentioned resurfacing
she continued without bothering about his interruption ," VP sir has something ...
some event lined up next which involves both dance and drama teams . Aur isiliye
yeh dono -freshers party aur elections jaldi complete karna hoga"
"what event?"sharon
Taani shrugged," main tab GS nahin rahoongi tho...im not really bothered" and
turning to swayam specificallly said," mujhe aapse baat karni hain lunch time pe "
and started moving away when rey again asked ," whats my responsibility?"
She stopped an answered," dance team aur stage ko manage karne ka full
responsibility..."
" why only that? Usse bhi kisi aur ko dedo like... Your new favourites- dhruv.."
rey s voice rose , the guys looked at the girls who looked confused at rey irritation
Taani frowned , swayam moved to rey but she spoke back," rey ...aap AGS nahin
ho" he was about to open his mouth whne she raised her voice and continued,
" AND aapne hi mujhse kahaan specifically ki aapko mujhse door rehna hain ...tho
main aapki duties mere saath kyun... ( the gang looked at one another surprised)
"oh yes jaise ki tum meri har baat maanthi ho right?! And mujhse door rehne ko
kahaan kisi aur ke paas jaane ko nahin" he stopped her midsentence stresing on
door and paas
She stared at him and saying confused frustrated and slowly becoming angry "i ...i... look who s talking rey" walked away.
Rey stared at her back for second confused and guilty when he heard mumblings
of the gang- wth s happening - and turning to them said chalo start now ...
And threw his bag down again.
Canteen- lunchtime
Taani eating alone and looking at some paper, swayam came in stood next to her
and said - itna kya urgent kaam hain ki teek se lunch nahin karsakthi
She looked at him as he sat down and smiled opening another box and giving it to
him. He started eating and then said, " im actually missing you ghar pe"
"jhoot mat bolo bhai! Aap ghar pe rehthe kahaan ho? " she smiled," half the time
college mein, phir dance phir ...rey ke ghar ( forcing herself to be normal) and
then sharon bhabhi ke saath...miss wiss kuch nahin karthe" she pulled his leg
Swayam grinned back ," atleast i miss this" and put the dish into his mouth,
" i mean kaka cooks well but unki khaane ke liye main yeh nahin karsaktha "
and licked his fingers and then his hands looking funny. She started laughing at that.
rey walked into the canteen and caught her laugh- he stopped in his tracks- she
looked so sweet all her affection for swayam written on her face .he felt his heart
fill with sadness that she hardly laughed like this nowadays and glad that he had atleast seen her now. He sat some tables away not able to
hear them but could see them clearly.
Swayam had stopped too and as her laugh reduced said," stay happy taani. I know
things havent been fine aaj kal but..." she nodded ," waise tumhe kya baat..."
"haan bhai..." she hesitated.
He saw her hesitation and asked,"is it about dhruv? Usne tumse poocha date ke
liye?" taani frowned and tried to say something but swayam hurriedly said,
" see its your life and your decision...i mean you should move on and all that but
i think...matlab i think its too early. And tumhe waqt dena chahiye khudh ko ...
Aur second chance bhi..."
"khudh ko ya rey ko bhai?" she asked sudden frown on her face, he frowned back
and she laughed ," seriously bhai! Aap sirf rey ka side lesakthe ho! I mean dhruv
kitna ...hes really nice aur aap ho ki...chodo wo sab...mujhe yeh kehna tha ki i needed help
meri applications sab mein but...i think main khudh karloongi"
"taani! Tum misunderst..."
She stood up , picked up her bag," no bhai. Aapko shayad understand karna chahiye
mere feelings ko" rey saw her lightheartedness disappear as she spoke,
" im not going with dhruv ya koi aur . Im just not interested" and walked out
leaving swayam staring at the lunchbox- she was right! He hadnt wanted her to
go with anyone else because rey would be upset.shit

Taani s apartment- evenin
Taani on the sofa legs stretched , staring at laptop screen typing, deleting typing
deleting and then frustratedly shaking the laptop. The bell rang- she opened the
door to find anjali standing in front of her
"wow new hair style! Looking nice" taani complimented forced to smile back at
anjali s grin as she walked in, looked around at the messy table and then holding
out a bag to taani said," part of my break up recovery plan- change your look.
Here i got something for us to eat. Busy thi kya?"
Taani picked the bag and moving to get plates said,"yes, lots of stuff college mein"
and then smiled at anjali s hair again saying," aapka sach mein break up recovery
plan hain?"
"yup, everyone needs it . Change your look , change your routine, throw every gift
away , keep friends close and ...find a new guy!" she grinned
Taani looked at her, mentally seeing rey - he had done that hadnt he- changed his
routine by resigning from AGS post, changed his dressing, friends tho hamesha
saath the hi unke aur found a new girl to go on a date with within 15 days
Aur mujhe dekho- wohin routine, wahin dress - aur gifts! Un sab gifts ko throw
karne se kya hua? Kuch nahin! Unki yaadein tho sab dil mein hain! Wo kaise
throw karoon? Friends- friends chodo bhai bhi saath nahin hain! ...upar se kya-
new guy!
Her face broke into a wistful smile - khayal bhi nahin aatha hain kisi aur ka aur
dhruv ne poocha tho...
"you could try to change taani..especially jab tumhe lagtha hain ki u are alone
then its a good thing - kisiki approval ki zaroorat nahin padthi " she heard anjali s
understanding voice and looked to see that anjali had finished clearing up the
plates , she herself had eaten without realising and again felt embarrassed -
maybe anjali was right - and smiled at her friendly face
" thanks aap itni helpful aur mature kaise ho?"
"oh that- mature kyunki ive been a loser for most of my life and helpful because
i want you to come with me for my field research next week. My last article got
thrown out" she grinned making taani smile more and shake her head.

Party day
partygoing on nicely...the performance is over etc., etc., ...taani has been
missing doing some work for elections
Rey with sonali-
Sonali was trying to say- " ab tumhaara dance sab hogaya na? Now we ll have some
time saath saath...waisemain do saal se tumhe poochna chahrahin thi...pehle
tho laga ki tum aur sharon...aur pjir baad mein tum aur taani...that was ..."
Rey half smiled," i didnt know"and keeping one eye on dhruv telling himself - i mean
i dont think wo dhruv ke saath aayegi , phir bhi...
Hey rey hi sonali hi everyone hi tum hi main- The guys joined them from nowhere
and started sticking to rey and not letting him stay for a moment alone with
sonali irritating her and everyone else as usual. Reys getting half irritated with
them but more bothered about where taani was .
Sonali wentaway with her friends to get something to drink the guys sat down relaxed and declared -yeh achhi nahin hain rey. Bad choice
Swayam- tum log itna irritate karoge tho koi bhi achha nahin behave nahin kareg
And stopped as he saw first rey stare and then the rest of the guys stare behind
him mouth open and turned back
Taani ! Was it really her? she was standing at some stall talking to some people-
dhruv one of them- swayam could see all of them smiling happily. She had done
something to herself- she was looking different , nice though conscious ...some
thing was changed about her...
She moved away from the guys shaking her headand her hair shook the new curls she seemed to have got.something dhruv said smiling a little she started looking around till she spotted rey staring at her and the guys waved to
her,moved towards them consciously as rey continued to stare at her in his own world surprised , swayam as usual uncomfortable and then suddenly
there was a scream- AAAHHH
Near some soft drinks stall
The girls were standing drinking some juice keeping an eyes on the guys saw sonali with rey, exchanged glances frowning
neha-mujhe itna anger kyun coming
Aashi- humein kuch types tho karna chahiye
sonali walked to them and with a smile said- nice dance.
They ignored her, she took something to drink and as she turned away , saw
sharon looking towards the guys , smiled and said," looking nice!"
Sharon forced a smile and gave a small nod ," you too"
" tum kiske saath ho? Im with rey " added unnecessarily and adjusted her heels
deepening the frown on the girls faces
Sharon in her attitude,"im with friends and ...just an advise , dont get very
excited rey ke baare mein. He s ..." sharon cautioned her voice not unfriendly
Sonali smiled sarcastically," dont worry about me sharon! Im sure after taani, i ll
be a huge relief! "
aashi, neha simmi sharon exchanged glances irritated with her when
Rinni s voice suddenly came out loud- OMG - sharon, taani ko dekho
All of them turned to see taani standing with some people and talking and broke into surprised happy smiles
New hairstyle! Shes cut it off...so short ...almost like mine ...simmi
Nahin longer , hair streaking !aaawww...rinni happily
Itni different lagthi haina? Aur dress bhi..neha excited
This is so unexpected ...shes looking so pretty kitne dino baad smile hain face pe
sharon happily
And all of them observed Taani- she was in a modified long colourful anarkali suit
held by thin straps, wide necked , stringed at the back with a thin chain around
her neck; heels higher than usual ; duppatta trailing on one side ;smile on her face as she moved to swayam
Haan, somehow i didnt think taani itni attention seeking niklegi...its almost funny
but i guess giving up is difficult...
Sonali s jealous voice cut through their excited voices in complete contrast and
she shrugged , moved forwards when aashi splashed her juice on her back , neha
followed her action immediately. Simmi grinned , Rinni in her hurry to close her
mouth dropped her glass, leaned on sharon upsetting sharons glass as well.
Poor sonali stepped on the juice , slipped on her long heels and went
AAAHHH...pulling a junior girl along with her.
She screamed again holding her leg. Rey, the guys ran towards her followed by
taani as the girls desperately tried to act like the whole thing was accidental.
