Do you watch Bollywood movies without knowing Hindi? - Page 3

I learned most of my hindi when I lived in india while I was younger - since I've lived in the us i have no one to talk to in hindi (no one in my family speaks hindi). definitely not a fluent speaker but i can usually follow mainstream hindi in movies.

on a funny side note, a lot of my friends get stares from uncles and aunties when they (uncles and aunties) ask them questions in hindi and my friends have no idea what they are talking about

Used to. Now i've watched too many Bollywood movies and i know exactly what they're saying.
I cannot speak Hindi, but I can understand it.

Because im from the UK I used to not be able to until i was like 8-9, but I could kind of understood films & dramas with abit of help from subtitles. But now im pretty much fine, i can understand Hindi now because its so much like urdu😊
