I'm an NRI living in Dubai. I plan to visit Lucknow in March 2015. Considering the swine flu threat, is it safe to travel to India right now? Looking for a medical perspective on the matter taking into account that I am 16 years old.

The rampant spread of Swine flu is slowing down, thanks to the awareness programs on a larger scale by the authorities and the people as well. If you're hauling your plan to visit India due to that, please rest assured that the chance of you getting infected by the flu depends on your own immunity system and precautions you take. No external factor can inject the flu into your body.

Just to be on the safer side, you can get vaccinated for H1N1. 😊
