Ashoka in Sanskrit means without sorrow', but did you know that Samrat Ashoka was also known as Samraat Chakravartin- the emperor of emperors, Devnmpriya- beloved of god, Priyadarin -the one who regards everyone with affection?

Did you know that Ashoka killed his 99 brothers to take the throne after the death of his father King Bindusara? He became the king with the help of a minister, Radhagupta.

Did you know how big Samrat Ashoka's empire was? It spanned from the Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan to Bangladesh and From Assam in the east, to Kerala and Andhra Pradesh in south.

Did you know that after killing his brothers for throne and fighting the battle of Kalinga (one of the bloodiest battles ever fought in Indian subcontinent), Samrat Ashoka was so devastated that the ruthless Mauryan Emporer eventually walked the path of peace and embraced Buddhism.

he was ard 31/32 when Bindusara died... he became king at 35

Moumiss😛😆 it seems they LOST the BET!😆😆 coz these are the 5 things EVERYBODY knows for sure😆
BUT BUT BUT...they should have written an article - 5 things about ashoka, which one would never know or should not know, coz it never happened, but we are showing it anyway🤣

My, My! That Bindusar was one over-active man! 100 kids? How many wives did this man have? And, when did he have time to fight those wars and expand his empire?😲

Btw, Kerala and Tamil Nadu where never ruled by Ashoka. They had the Cheras and Cholas ruling over them at that time.
