In his eyes!! The fire that raged, like a towering forest fire, blind and destructive yet contained in those eyes !! The flames enveloping his world, their world, the heat melting the finer feelings of love, trust, faith, understanding, caring...all burnt to ashes, all cinders!! Yet it was cold, freezing cold!! It froze her soul, her very being, and the very ice that has started forming a wall around his heart...
Those eyes, a barren waste, cold yet hot!! His control icy, be it when he sees her the first time, and she tries to hug him. Contained!! He stopped her in her tracks, with a whimsical, ironical smile...a smile that never reached those terrifyingly frozen eyes. He didn't want the ice inside to melt, lest she touch him and he looses it all!! She still had the power to melt his insides. Or was it the fear that he would harm her, snap her in two in his icy fury. Was he still trying to protect her, save her from himself?? Was that why he was so tightly wound?? So Aloof...
Pretending to check her out and approve of how she adorned his gifts...his eyes insulted each gift of love, dishonored each symbol of purity. How he loathed those gifts, the ones that had symbolized love just a few hours ago, now only underlined the transient hollowness of such emotions...
The dance, controlled, restrained!! The fury lashing inside, yet it was cold...numbing, paralyzing cold!! For the first time, his touch didn't translate into love, his caress didn't spell desire. His cold n casual questions...as if he already knew the answers and he cared a damn about her responses. The answers he was just not listening to...what a waste of time, his body language said!! Just giving her enough rope to hang herself, cause he had already died somewhere in the process...
Those three devastating words of hate...that gave away the secret of his love...branded his whole being with a fiery fire that will never abate!! The three words that scarred her soul, left his in pieces. The three words that broke her heart, left his bleeding!! She might forgive and forget those three desperate words of hurt, he will never forget the echo of hate that took over his love...
His question...his tense yet indifferent wait for the answer, the whip cord tension in his silence...his words limited, his emotions whirl pooling everywhere, overflowing anywhere...all over the place!! His smile the heights of heartless sarcasm, his grin pasted with the glue of bitterness, a clownish terrifying, haunting smile painted on his face...more a grimace if you look carefully, a grimace of a heartbreak, the scream of unbearable pain...
His smile, another saga of betrayal...just like his eyes...they had a different story to tell...anyone listening??
I felt the fire...the icy cold fire...the heat the froze what it touched, instead of thawed...the eyes that had a vacuum of a soul locked in them...I felt the ice that burnt...shriveled the insides, and buried in a cold tomb forever...
He was cool, in control yet his eyes...they smiled...a bitter devastating travesty of a smile!! Steely, ruthless, the expanse of an icy desert, where none dared step...and where the remains of trust where buried, the ones he silently wept on!!
