You have very valid points. It is really hard to understand the character of Shagun. But my question is does Shagun really love Adi? And I am not talking about today's episode. Cvs most of the time tend to undermine their characters just to prove a point. Lets keep Shagun-Ruhi relationship aside. For me when Shagun and Raman separated, she only took Adi away from Raman not because she wanted her son but she didnt want Raman to have him. If she wanted her son why would she send him to a boarding school right after that. She has always failed to protect him from world's evil do. She hasnt taught him life skils he needs. This kid for god's sake is a criminal. She has been barley shown spending time with him. She gives him money so she doesnt have to deal with her son. She poisons his mind that this kid ate the wrong medicane just so he can kick his step-mother out. Last but not least ,she uses her son as pawn and that too me makes Shagun an awful mother. So my question what makes a good mother and does Shagun really love Adi?

Now coming today's scene, this wasn't the first time it shown Shagun put her needs before her child. This was shown long before this crappy track was even shown. Remember when Adi had to buy a school uniform. Shagun gave him money and went on to her own stuff.

In my opinion Shagun is not really a mother to both her children but I think she does have a soft Adi. Maybe deep deep down she may have motherly instincts for Adi.

Sorry if I hurt anyone in anyway. This is just my pov.

Does anyone remember Shagun's plight before first custody case. She wanted to get close to Ruhi but had to back of due to Ashok's unwillingness. Yes, she left Ruhi when she just six months old but a part of her motherhood yearned for Ruhi. CVs then erased that part of Shagun to fit Ishita into Ruhi's life.

Shagun loved Adi.Period. She took the blame for Adi despite knowing its consequences during accident case. Shagun even denied to marry Ashok unless he acknowledged Adi as his legal heir. Yes, she used Adi in the past but at the same time she loved him immensely in her own way.

I always thought Shagun as a grey character but later (read after he reentry into Bhalla house) they turned her into a complete negative character to give leverage to Ishima.

I agree with a lot of what you say about the inconsistency relating to Shagun's characterization. Except I don't think CVs did this to give leverage to Ishita as you describe but for drama sake. They always need a fully evil character to create drama it seems, with Ashoka out of that role they went with Shagun.

There are women like shagun exist . when i used to hear the stories of my grandfathers mom its so close to shagun . downright selfisselfish and can go to any extend to full filfill their own selfish deed
A mother if she can leave her baby can do any thing

But the i wonder s Raman is a clever person . y did he took more than 6 years to understand 'who' shagun is ?
May b he was so in love . love can reduce any one to anytging like that he may hv lost his thinking ability .

I agree that they have turned Shagun from grey to darker of late...but to say that Shagun has always loved Adi would be overstating it. Shagun loves only herself. If she had any feelings truly about Adi, she wouldn't have tried to keep Adi for herself...alienating him from his father's family or even Ruhi. I don't remember any incident where she tried to encourage Ruhi-Adi bonding. She is possessive about Adi ...but ... If indulging Adi is love, she has loved Adi...from beginning they have shown she uses Adi to score a point against Raman. Only accident track she looked like a mother but then again her son got into an accident because she allowed Ashok to gift a 11 year old a car. Remember Ashok's intentions were always about showing Raman down be it stealing his wife, son from him, trying to pass Ruhi as his love child...or over-indulging Adi to make him feel he cares about him. That's something you'd expect from a guy like Ashok. Shagun was witness to all these, but chose to look the other way as it suited her. Was it motherly? I'm a mother, I'll say ..not at all.

Like Coco mentioned about the incident where she gave him money to buy a school uniform himself while she went to the spa...that was putting her own need before her child's. I dont want to start about her parenting when it comes to Ruhi.

Yes today her leaving him to attend a social event instead of going to dinner with Adi may feel too much because of the pre-cap...but Shagun was within character.

..just expressing my view point in this. No offense meant.

BANG ON POST 👍🏼👍🏼

The 2 illustrations that u hv illustrated above to depict Shagun's characterization crossed my mind when I read this post about Shagun loving her Son!

I accept the fact that Shagun didn't have any bonding/ motherly instincts for Ruhi for whatsoever reasons but I fail to accept that she loved Adi unconditionally and that she could do anything for him

1. Where was her love when she took Adi along with her when she left Bhalla house but then immediately sent him away to a Boarding School. Hadn't Adi needed his mother then to cope up with the loss of his father n his family?!!

2. Where was her love when her Child wanted to go for shopping with her and instead she just kept a bundle of notes in his hands

3. And believe me when I say that if the accident case was stretched to a point where it would hv been proved that the accident was indeed done by Shagun then she would have immediately washed her hands out of the crime and confessed that it was actually done by her Son Adi!!
