On the surface, some fingers might point at Nandini and the majority of course will be pointing at Nyonika...but the root lies somewhere deep, down, inside...
It started the day when Nandini and Manik came face to face the very first time and all hell broke loose. Remember the days when she was haunted by Manik's fear. The days when his cruelty made us shudder, his inhuman antics winning many accolades, including ' Monster Manik ' which actually turned into his identity. Can we go back and look at he horrendous pain this 17 year old girl suffered at the hands of Fab 5 and especially Manik. The tears, the jeers, the jerks, the insults, the tasks and punishments, the humiliation...
Yes, I know we have all moved on and they both have moved on too...Our Monster has turned into our darling, and he has evolved into a guy any girl would want to spend her lifetime with...then why in the world am I reopening old wounds that have healed?? Or have they??
Is Nandini really out of those shadows?? Every time when she comes to the cross roads when she has to pick between his cruelty and his humanity, the girl falters and stumbles badly. The musicana night, when he comes out in the open and says it was all a prank to get back to her...she believes him!!?? Have we thought why?? Cause deep down she believes this man is capable of being so inhuman, that he is capable of this torture, this cruelty and she won't be surprised if he does think and act that way. That precisely was the psychological reason behind her lack of faith, yes...she believed he was capable of stooping so low
Not to mention the fact that she knows that Manik can go to any extent for his loved ones...he can do anything when he feels his loved ones are cornered...that impression is meant to last forever...
Coming to her next test of trust...the Soha Debacle...she started out fine cause now she knew her guy. She did trust him more than the last time...but then come the doubts, then creeps the hesitation...can he do something like this?? And the answer she gets is based on her past experiences with the guy. She has seen his aggressive side oh so clearly, she has been a victim of his volatile temper, she has been pushed to the extreme edge by his inhumanity and again she knows what he is capable of when pushed to protect his own.
They might have fallen for each other irrevocably, but the past still lurks, unconsciously, unrecognized. They say old sins cast long shadows, and Manik's aggressive past has left its mark on Nandini's psyche. What she has suffered at his hands, has been forgiven, but it seems that it has not been forgotten. The demons of the past have not been slayed. Their past has shaped their present and if not dealt with, it will definitely deform their future too.
The root question here...does she believe that he is capable of being inhuman, cruel in certain circumstances and every time the answer is ...yes!! But is she wrong?? Our past teaches us some lessons that we remember, that we should retain, and her defense mechanism has done exactly that. Is it so easy to delete certain horrifying events from your memory? Don't such incidents leave a deep impact on one's psyche, that cannot be countered conveniently? If today, she judges that Manik can be ruthless in an accident..mind you she does not believe he murdered her in cold blood...is that too surprising?? Isn't that natural in the circumstances??
Manik feels hurt and betrayed when she is so quick to jump to the worst conclusions, but isn't that what he has deliberately cultivated ?? Hasn't he always basked in being BAD?? He did say that she makes him want to be good but is that closure enough when at every bend in the road he has gone to great lengths to insure his own worst reputation?? Manik has never made any bones about his lack of scruples, rather has been very in your face about it, so why not understand her sponsored mentality behind her judgments...
The roots run deep here, the rot lies somewhere in the not so distant past...there is a reason behind her repeated lack of trust and the reasons have been provided by Manik Monster Malhotra himself. It's his Karma in Nandini's form...
(Just trying to analyze...not taking any one's side or defending their stance..MaNan are one for me..please be kind...thanks)
