Q. There are three films aiming to release on Christmas with one being a Shahrukh Khan starrer. Will Ranbir and Bhansali compete after what happened with Saawariya?
Ans. Tamasha and Bajirao Mastani are unlikely to make it by December. The Shahrukh Khan and Rohit Shetty film is being aimed for Christmas but if that cant make it then the door will be left open for Fan, Basically it will be a Shahrukh Khan starrer on Christmas this year.

Q. Most of the people seem to book tickets online these days and it seems hardly any people buy tickets at the box office. Can you provide some data on about what proportion of cinema tickets are sold online in India, particularly for multiplexes?
Ans. More tickets are still bought at the box office. Around 35-40% of multiplex business comes from online sales while for a big film it works out around 25% of all business coming from line. These are the ratios for the business, the ratio as far as tickets sold will be even less as although single screen business is just 30-35% in terms of nett but ticket sales can be more than 50% for some films.

Q. Aamir Khan and PK have hardly got any awards, surely most awards should have gone to them?
Ans. It just reflects on the people giving awards. Whether someone comes to your function or not is irrelevant. An award should be given to most deserving but in India awards have always been a farce. More so in recent years when stars are told to take a pay cut for a performance in return for an award. Most of the time this award is rejected for the money and that tells how important these awards are. PK had no competition this year but when the system is corrupt this is what happens.
