I have been watching this season from the start, but I have not watched MC India ever before. I was attracted to this season by the vegetarian theme. I wanted to make a post about some observations I have made. Feel free to post your own. 😃

I was very excited to see that VK is a judge on here because I am a big fan of his! 😳 I remember how Gordon Ramsey (whom I'm a huge fan of as well) had invited him on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares, and that's how I got to know about VK. I think the episode itself was very old, but I was watching it a few years later. Anyways, I was happy to see an Indian chef with such international recognition, and I was really impressed when I found out that his restaurant in New York, Junoon is a Michelin Star restaurant. Then, I saw him on MC India a couple of weeks ago, and I got excited again! 😃 Not only is he an excellent chef, but his personality is also very likable as well. I have observed that he is very respectful to the contestants. Some of these ladies really flirt with him a lot (like the first girl we saw in episode 1), and he'll jokingly flirt back, but it's not out of line. Some of the flirting was a little OTT by him (like the Chandini comment), but sometimes channel people also put pressures on judges to do certain things for TRPs. Plus, editing can make anyone look like anything. Overall though, he's very encouraging to people. What he said to that person who said, "liyak" (sorry for misspelling) really resonated with because we as human beings often do put ourselves down by saying things like "We're not worthy of this...". We should not talk like that about ourselves. It's good he encourages positivity. Also, when Meenu ji cut her finger and got discouraged, he encouraged her so nicely. She felt so good and got selected for the Top 12 in the first cut. I'm sorry for writing so lengthy about him, but I'm really impressed with him not only as a chef, but as a person too. 😳

I am not appreciating SK attitude so much right now. He does have knowledge about food and technique, and I credit a lot of my interest in Indian cooking to him because of his show Khanna Khazana. To my knowledge, he was the first chef to come on Indian T.V. and explain to Indian audiences how to cook. Also, his channel Food Food is the Food Network of India---a channel strictly devoted to cooking, which opens up opportunities for so many other chefs. However, he at times is very rude and goes out of his way to make rude comments to the contestants. In MC in the U.S.A sometimes comments are said to scare contestants, but it's usually not out of line. Also, encouragement is given to those contestants who really need it, and of course, the intimidating comments are given to those contestants at times when they show high egos. SK on MC India really goes out of his way to mess with the contestants' minds by putting unnecessary pressure on them. I also notice that RB (who at first was not very talkative) is starting to make SK-like comments to the contestants too, but he is also really encouraging too, like he gave the little Sardar boy (sorry don't remember his name) a very good compliment about his dish even though the presentation was not that good. Hopefully, there will be more encouragement and less discouragement.

Also, I really did like seeing some techniques yesterday (like how to make the radish ribbon), and I would like to see more of that. I also want to see more about what the contestants are making and the techniques each person is using. I want get to know more about different flavors and flavor combinations. It's nice to know what flavors go well with each other. I want to see less drama and more FOOD! 😃 These kinds of shows are inspiring to watch and spread the joy of cooking. Let's keep that spirit flowing!

The editing overall is fine, but the ending is very abrupt. It's hard for me to realize when the show is over, and the 30 minute showing is too fast. I would rather see the show for one hour on the weekends rather than 30 minutes Monday-Friday.

I apologize for the novel of a post I wrote. I just wanted to state what I observed, and I also wanted to hear what everyone else's observations are. Please feel free to write your own posts, but please do not bash any of the judges, contestants, or people in general! 😳

Agree. Sanjeev Kapoor needs to stop with the nautanki and focus on the food and the cooking. The show should be about the contestants not the judges

First of all an awesome post on an otherwise quite forum 😃.I have been a regular viewer of MC india and this tym I must say the forum is unusually quite.Coming to the topic I am like u an ardent fan of VK and I admire his personality and humility and its really endearing 2 see him coming all the way in helping out the contestants. But as a viewer of all the 3 seasons I must say this tym the auditions were dramatic OTT though now I feel they r back on track 2 focus on food in the bootcamp going on now.I also personally didn't like the channel focussing on VK's bachelorhood and his flirting avatar especially with the contestant Prathiba Kochar .The whole part of the bg music from Chandini was over the top and seemed like orchestrated.Though the channel might have asked him 2 do so for the sake of trps but it didn't suit a chef of his stature.
Coming 2 Sanjeev Kapoor he was the same in season 3 too so not a surprise at all.Ranveer Brar is good but really miss the screen presence of Kunal Kapur and must say really miss the awesome chemistry btw him and VK.The show is too short 4 30 min time frame and it seemed like it ends even be4 it starts and a sort of continuity seems 2 get lost.
Hoping 2 see more amazing techniques on food and less focus on drama .

Even I'm a die-hard fan of Vikas! :D I love him! :D An inspirational public figure! :)
People who get a chance to meet him, always say good things about him...and that's the best part...because it's very rare that everyone talks good about you...:)

Count me in! I'm missing Vikas-Kunal :( The duo had so much fun together...PH please bring them back next time.

I didn't see that Chandni scene...was it that bad that? Probably PH asked him to do that -_-

Woh scene kya meine toh ik bhi episode nahi dekha...don't get time even for repeats! :O

I am liking this show..The tasks given were different and the episodes hopefully will be still good as they go on..Yes I have watched many seasons of MC Australia and US...SK is an older cook so they will surely make his tone a bit tough when compared to the other 2..VK is their chocolate boy...Overall I am loving this veg season a lot.

Nice to see other VK fans too! 😳 I have a lot of respect for him as a chef and as a person.
I do see more now with the Chakravudh (sorry for misspelling) and three Chanotis (sorry again for misspelling) within each Chakravudh, that there is more of a focus on the food. I liked learning how to make rice paper, and the muli (sorry for misspelling) ribbon is something I will try to practice when I get muli!

Very nice post.. a much needed one.. this forum is upto a very slow start..
Have not watched past seasons so i come with a open mind.. that being said .. i did find SK's attitude a tad bit rude.. may be it is all normal..

Did not like the auditions bit.. felt it was a bit OTT..

Do like Vikas.. looking forward to the upcoming episodes..

Sorry for not replying! It was bad in an inappropriate sense, but it was just OTT in terms of just really not needed (too much drama and focus on the fact that he's not married). I really, truly feel that the channel people asked him to do that, along with some of the other flirting he did.

I fully agree with every comment of yours. In the previous seasons SK was never as discouraging as he is this season. This season he is going too far. RB is so-so for me. I still haven't "warmed" up to him (for lack of a better word). And I'm really liking VK this season. In the previous seasons he used to be more of the "good cop" type of judge who made likeable comments but almost always unrelated to the food itself. This season he's about encouragement and food comments.
