how does winning a race make you a better mother?
I have the best mother in the world, but she wouldn't last 2 seconds in that race...

Although I'm glad Ishida won, and I have no qualms about it, I wish she hadn't or at least came in second, and show how her entire family was still behind her and Ruhi and Raman, especially, still chose her over Shagun. That would be a smack in the face.

What do you all think? How was winning the race significant in proving the better mother? Which scenerio would have been more effective?

i think it was kind of ironic that Shagun lost considering she was a champion in school. N Ishita took pains to practice and win the race for Ruhi coz she loves her. SO they just wanted to show that Shagun was overconfident while Ishita was prepared for the race.
Just by giving birth u can't have rights over ur children - u need to work hard and earn those rights. Just as ur responsibilities as a parent don't end only by giving birth to ur child but starts after the birth, its all about how u rear a child, how u give them moral values and help them grow into a responsible individual. Maybe this is what they wanted to show in the serial.

Their idea was good but as usual execution failed. 😛
