The words left Vidushi's mouth, as bleak and numb as her red, swollen eyes. This was the last straw, and she couldn't take it any more. The countless number of fights, the hurtful accusations, the misunderstandings and the gap between her and Parth which was widening with each passing second.
And after crying and crying and crying so much that her tear ducts dried up...she finally made the toughest decision of her life.
Parth's expression of anger changed immediately! His blazing eyes softened for a heartbeat, and then, his expression turned into one of total disbelief.
'What are you saying??' he asked Vidushi, grabbing her shoulders harshly.
'What you just heard,' she replied with the same numb and cold demeanour. The force of Parth's strong hands did not affect her at all. After all...the physical pain was nothing compared to the emotional pain.
He let go of her.
And just stared into her eyes, trying to find some emotion. But all he saw was emptiness and darkness.
A huge dark void devoid of all emotion.
'Sign these papers...and set me free,' said Vidushi, handing Parth the divorce papers and a pen. Then, without even looking back once, she walked back to her room.
Parth went through the papers. He saw that she had already signed them.
And before he knew it, salty water blurred his vision and started flowing down his cheeks.
He sat down, composed himself and wiped his tears. His fingers bent around the pen, ready to sign the papers. But as the pen was about to touch the paper, he stopped.
He couldn't do it. He just couldn't.
He went up to the terrace to get some fresh air.

Vidushi sat on the bed in solitude. Her tears had dried up. Her eyes were swollen, red and paining. She had no strength left to cry anymore.
She was tired. And she felt like an empty shell. A shadow of her former self.
She had been taking anti depressants for the last one week. Not that they seemed to be helping much.
She searched for the anti depressant tablets in her medicine box. Seeing that they were over, she opened her drawer to get out a new container.
And then her eyes fell on her wedding album. THEIR wedding album.
And the sudden wave of nostalgia hit her!
