Can we have an actual debate?

The debate topic IS in effect debate...

Good and nice idea 😊 👏👍🏼 making teams and deabating lets hope other forum members also like this idea .

It used to happen, but has not happened for quite some time now.

I too would love to have such a debate!

Well debating for a prize ruins the true motive of the debate IMO,which is either to change your views on something or get reasons to believe more strongly in something you already believed in.

Usually, in vocal debates, you have teams.. Two in general. Team A speaks for. B speaks against.

And there is rebuttle... There are different types.. In some debates.. Parliamentary etc.. etc..

So, I thought, since this Forum seems like more of discussion type place where people comment where they agree or ignore. Why not have a debate? We can have teams and topics and MODS moderating the debate... And announce some reward for the winner? What say?😉

Okay. So. The debate topic open to all is:

Debate Mansion Forum must have a debate competition with decided teams and topics and sides.

I newly came to discover this corner of forum and by running through ancient pages, I must say topics advanced are really interesting but unfortunately didn't get their due responses to it ! Let's have a debate but on a really nuanced topic, where everyone have different thoughts, that would be really interesting coz that won't be an unipolar debate where anyone wouldn't always agree on same point but would do their best to exercise their influence on others ! That's the art of debate !

This is a good idea and may help bring some more activity to the forums. I'm not too sure about any reward though, since there isn't much to be rewarded with on the forums (perhaps introducing some IF currency, but that would be too major of a step for just this thing).
