Marigold actress Ali Larter's wish turned out to be co-star Salman Khan's command. When the director of the film, Willard Carroll refused to part with a particular dress that Ali wanted from the film, Salman Khan felt bad for her and promptly commissioned a new dress for her.

Ali Larter fell in love with a bridal lehenga that she wore in the film and expressed a desire to keep it. "When Larter was shooting in India she loved a particular costume that Rocky S had designed for the film. She was exceptionally fond of the exquisitely embroidered wedding dress that she had worn for an important sequence. So she made a request to director Willard but he bluntly refused to let her have it. He did not want to part with it."

When contacted, Willard said, "This is an important film in my life and I don't want to part with anything from the film."

However, when Salman came to know of it, he decided to gift just such a dress to her. "When Salman Khan came to know about this he felt bad. He said, 'Ek dress nahin de sakte hum use?' She is expected to be here for the release of the film and that's when he will hand it over to her. Sallu said, 'I will gift it to her personally when she comes here.'"

Apparently, Salman said that according to the Indian custom, if a guest asks for something, one cannot refuse it. "In keeping with this custom, a similar costume has been created and will be gifted to Ali," our source reveals.
