Joint Family.....???

A joint family follows either the matriarchal system or the patriarchal system and nothing more or nothing less. Apart from the fact that we are not going to be alone in times of woe, nobody can deny that every step we take cant be an independent one. we are always overshadowed by the views and demands of the rest in the family. And for better understanding and privacy of the married couple, joint family won't hold good. When the husband and wife think of doing something for themselves, it can never be an individual decission. they have to comply by the words of the others. in an independent living set up, the husband decides for the wife or the wife decides for the husband or both decide for their ownselves. but its not the case with the joint families, where, the matriarch or the patriarch decides for the couple. this deprives them of the happiness they would get out of it. establishment of the due emotional bond is far from possible.😳Is it right or wrong?😳

I don't know if all joint families are quite so harsh. Some cons of living in joint family are of course the fact that there isn't much privacy. Decisions that would have been your own end up involving the whole family. It is true that you will be overshadowed at times, but it really depends on the family. I think that it depends on the type of people, if they want to be close to their families or if they would rather lead a more independant life. I think today more people prefer living independantly to being in a joint family.

well i have never lived in a joint family system neither i like people interfering in my matters exept for my parents and bro/sis so i would prefer to live alone or with my sasu or sasoor only if my husband says so iss say zaida kisi kay sath nhin rehna chahoon ge 😉

I dont think all joint families are pest...

for eg the one in baa bahoo and baby.......i would love to be in such a joint family...

i guess it depends on how civilised the family is...not all families are nasty when they live together..

joint family provides oneness which today most households dont possess...

I have never lived or been exposed to joint family lifestyle and from what friends who live in joint families say....I don't think I am missing much. Personally I feel that the sacrifices and adjustments needed to make a joint family work don't really balance the pros whatever they may be.

In join family we can learn,how to adjest, how to share, sacrifies,compatition,Control urself,differnces and Most importent how to Love, love of Grandparents n cosins n other people 😊 .
