Well it is a world of drama and make believe.
They can either make us believe with their looks or by performance .Old Anop did look convincing as Shiv's father same with Alok .Where as that old actor was not convincing in his performanceThis new Anop he doesn't look old enough to play the role of Shiv's father but he is quite convincing enough in the role of a man who lost out so much on life and now he is greedy to experience all those things that he has lost in his youth.

The genuineness in Alok's character, the expressions on his face, and the ability to let-go-off makes Alok come across as Shiv's father more than Anoop (the character). Except for being his biological father, everything about Alok makes him look and feel like Shiv's real dad.
Anoop's acting is nice and that's why his selfishness is clearly brought out compared to his love for Shiv, as father. Which makes me think that Alok is any day a better father figure to Shiv than Anoop.Coming to looks, I think all actors playing Sumi, Bhairon, Ira, meenu, Alok, Anoop and Khajan are quite young to play Sid, Toral, Shashank, Aasiya, Sriti and Sargun's parents or In-laws. But in the TV world, one's real age is usually young from their character age. And the glam world usually prefers young looking faces even for older roles.

Gehna was about 8 years older to Jagya and 10 to Anandi. She was 18 and Anandi was 8, when Gehna got married. By that standard Gehna might only be 5-6 years older than Shiv. In that aspect, I do think Gehna looks alright for her age.Originally posted by: libsrocks
Most weird is Gehna. Granted she was very young when she got married but still she must be older than Shiv even if only by few years...Non of the Gehna looks older than Jagya or Shiv...infact now Anandi looks older than Gehna 😆

I have to say mindset of Indian viewers are somewhat distrotted because of such shows...indian viewers are so focussed on physical beauty of side characters that they are ready to over the insensibility of everything. I have watched few dramas of other few countries where they ensure such mishap of age does not take place and trust me it makes drama look much better and believable. People are able to relate with the characters more if they themselves look relatable to each other.
