The easy camaraderie, shared between two people who have known each other for years. Who know the ins and outs of their partners, and are so very comfortable, that it becomes almost a routine. That kind of familiarity I am talking about. Usually such confident casualness is seen between couples that have been together for a lifetime, and so, when a couple that is so not a couple shows such traits, you sit up and take notice đ
In an episode where too much happened too fast, what stayed with me was a strange feeling of comfort and warmth like a baby blanket, snuggly and soft and secure. Looking at what actually happened, wonder where that hugging my favorite blanky and snoozing feeling came from...
From two people who have barely been together for a few days, yet are so comfortable with each other that it feels they are breathing in each other's skins. They spent a night together, being as close physically and emotionally as it can possibly be, yet getting up in the morning and feeling like whats the big deal, this of course was the most natural thing in the world, so spare the blushes. And for the likes of Nandini, it should have been gigantic, looking at their complicated relationship status, yet it couldn't have been anything else. The casual morning conversation, be it together or with a close friend. The okay.. you did it, whatever..kind of acceptance, where whatever outrageous your other half does, you just take it in your stride as one of the eccentries you just have to get used to. The get ready you have work to do ordering around, the casual I am out of the shower and what are you guys up to, trying to join in on convos so confidently. And the calling the cab and his sudden grimace and the taken for granted i will see you out phrases. Such every day stuff, nothing to write about stuff that happens between a twosome. The frowns and the smiles or the inane silly conversations two people have, that seem more important than Obama Modi speeches but make zilch sense to an outsider. The coconut and trying to turn that frown upside down and the cute cheek pulling of his potato...yummy indeed!! Not to mention the casual banter..so common, nothing unusual yet it reeks of a level of understanding, a level of nsyncness that couples have after being together for a while. The instinctiveness of such casual scenes felt superb.
And of course the cutest part...the hand holding. Umpteen times in daily life have seen couples holding hands, loosely, without even being aware (err they were very very aware..i know), an unconscious connect and say goodbyes. What stood out, his protectiveness. Gosh he is one hell of a protective guy, something tells me if he has a daughter in future, the poor kid will have a hard time getting some fun outta lifeđ!! You know what they say the worst of rakes make the strictest of father...sorry I deviated!!đł Whether it was when Dhruv had his attack at the caf eor when Nandini got stuck at his place or when Cabir was taken to the hospital...or today when she was travelling long distance by a cab...this guy is super careful about his girl's safety. Loved his subtle warning to the cab driver, dude, she is precious!! (And in today's age, when such horrible and shocking instances happen on the roads, late nights or in broad daylight, with women...I love cvs for highlighting this every time.)
The constant texting, calling, always in touch over the smallest of things...hey, listen to this...hey this happened..asking for opinions and giving unpopular honest ones without blinking an eye..other accepting it equally nonchalantly...u there...I gotta go!! Ok...I m just stepping out to see her (so what if she is hours away, its obvious that I have to see her..right??) So insignificant, yet so important. Such things so routine, yet so romantic!! Sometimes magic is so subtle, so fine, it weaves a spell right in front of your eyes, but you just cant see it, can only be felt, a nameless, I just can put a finger on why I am smiling, kind of feeling.
Whatever name they might have, friendship, physical attraction, TLC or love...they are a true blue couple. You just have to look at their body languages, their conversations, their familiar actions, nothing special just being us attitude, to know that whatever surprises, the plotting and planning world might throw at them, these two will remain unaffected in the long run. They have simply accepted the fact that they belong together!
