I think you are the best suitable person for me to ask one thing which I couldn't understand that on the New Year eve why Nandu melted by just one sentence of Manik even though she had said they can't be together?Her earlier reason to do so was they give each other pain only.Later she said she's insecure/scared abt future ...but his words didn't answer any.So,I am confused.
Zoey...my interpretation is that Nandini and Manik were discussing his equation with Fab5 and with her...he simply says that he cannot desert Fab5 ever cause they need him, they need him to protect, to care, to guide, to nurture...to simply keep them together...if he leaves Fab5 they will be broken...and then he goes ahead and says that similarly he needs her. The inference being, she protects him, nurtures him, takes care of him. She is the one that keeps him sane, keeps him together. She being his star, his guiding light, his shining beacon. The statement that he needs her like Fab5 need him..makes sense to her. She then understands that there can be no comparison as theirs is a unique equation. Fab5 cannot survive without Manik and so he cant leave them, but Manik cannot survive without Nandini and so she can't leave him either. Hearing this need, this confession of how important she is in his life, of how different she is from fab5 and that their equation has its own significance above and beyond the fab5 comparison, tugs at her heart strings. She finally understands what he did and why he did it, it was not deserting her, it was standing by fab5. Nandini I guess finally accepted that each have their own place in his life, if his friends were important for his sustenance, she was vital for his survival too. For him it was never about his wish to leave her alone, but always about his duty to not leave Fab5 alone...there is a difference between the two...and he could finally make Nandini understand this.
its not good and I know that...but just tried my best here. Honestly, I too felt that something more was required, this was too late and too little but it still made sense..so in the euphoria of a beautiful MaNan reunion..decided to let matters rest.
