Why should established actors work with newcomers?

It has happened frequently over the years, established actors working with newcomers. SRK with Hrithik in KKKG and the latest being Akshay with Siddharth in the upcoming Brothers. Don't established actors feel insecure from the new blood? If I was established, I wouldn't want to work with new sensations that could hurt my position in the industry. 😉 And insecurity could arise if the newcomer steals the limelight. Why should established actors work with newcomers? Please share your thoughts. 😲

I don't think actors have such issues as long as they get prominent screen space and a good script. But I wonder if two actresses feel the same way

Because they have new 'kamar', not 'kamra'.

1. Much better working with a newcomer than another established actor in his place, who could challenge you in every way, from stealing the limelight to media hype and more attention at workplace.

nikitagmc brings up some great points.

The only thing I would add is that with your specific examples I think the fact that the makers or banner of these films are/was Dharma, a very well reputed production house, probably gave the established actors piece of mind that it won't end up being some B grade flick.

In case of KKKG it was even being directed by Karan so I don't think SRK really worried about anything. Besides, Hrithik didn't show up till the second half. I don't think he has much to worry about with the upcoming Rohit Shetty film either with Varun.

As for Akshay I don't think he particularly worries about his costars. I always get the vibe from him that he just wants to do his work and go home. He seems to be the most drama free person in Bollywood.

Shouldn't be a problem as the newcomer is not even competition most of the time!!
