With three box-office superstars taking a leave of absence in 2015, expect a major shortfall of revenue from Bollywood.
Here's why...
HRITHIK'S TAKING HIS TIME
He had a hit with Bang Bang in 2014, but will be off screens this year. He has only signed Ashutosh Gowariker's Mohenjo-Daro so far and that film only releases August 2016. That leaves fans of the actor with an almost-two-year waiting period.
AAMIR'S BEING PICKY
The man will have no release till mid-2016. There had been talk of him signing Nitesh Tiwari's Pahelwan, but, say sources, "Aamir asked for several changes in the script and he's unlikely to sign the project in the near future."
2014 WAS MIXED, 2016 IS FIXED FOR AJAY
Ajay Devgn had an okay year last year " Singham 2 did well while Action Jackson was an embarrassment " and won't have any releases this year. His next, Shivay is scheduled for release in January 2016.
TRADE TALK
Analyst Amul Mohan of Super Cinema says, "We're talking about a loss of approximately '500-600 crore, if you consider solo releases of Aamir, Hrithik and Ajay."
