Even though these two films aren't releasing on the same day, they may end affecting each other's business at the box office...

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif will return on the big screen together after a long time with Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos. The detective film has been in the news because of its ever changing release date. Initially the film was supposed to release in May this year but the makers ended up pushing it to August. Then it was being said that Ranbir-Kat starrer would hit the screens in October during Gandhi Jayanti. But even that won't happen now because Jagga Jasoos will now come out on November 27. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted a while back, "Disney's #JaggaJasoos, slated for release on 27th November. Directed by Anurag Basu the film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif."

Well, we are glad that Basu has finally locked the date for his much-awaited film. However, around the same time Salman Khan's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo will also release. Sooraj Barjatya's film starring Khan and Sonam Kapoor is scheduled to come out during Diwali this year which is in the month of November. So Jagga Jasoos will release two weeks before PRDP. Yes, the gap is long enough between both the releases but RK and Salman's films are both big banner projects with immense anticipation. So its highly likely that Jagga Jasoos and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo will end up eating each other's business to an extent.

But who will walk away with a bigger money pie, we dunno. Guess only time will tell but we won't be surprised if Being Human superstar ends up overshadowing Ranbir and Katrina's film at the box office. After all, we all know the power of his star status, right peeps?

It would be fun to read Sonam taking digs at "her favorite couple", Ranbir-Katrina during the promotions of PRDP. More entertainment.. if Sallu joins her.

Jagga Jasoos may release near Shuddhi but PRDP I doubt

^They haven't even started shooting for Shuddhi and the female lead hasn't even been decided yet. I think Shuddhi will probably be postponed to next year.

And two weeks gap is a good time, no? Usually all the good films earn 100+crores in the first week itself. So I fail to see how these two films will affect each other's business.

According to bollywoodhungama, prdp releases on Nov 1, Diwali is on Nov 11.
