Not true... look at how a talented actress like Yami Gautam is relegated to films like Action Jackson and Total Siyapaa while freakin' Sonam Kapoor gets lead roles in films. Also, guys like ARK and Ayushmann Khurrana and even SSR are behind in the rat-race because they aren't part of the KJo camp like Varun and Sid.

But Akshay is a good example of someone to made it to the top without the backing of any camp. I think he's trying to say that it is possible to make it far without the safety net of a camp and he is an example of it. And despite not being in the KJo camp, look at SSR's film line up. Plus he is working with different directors and production houses so early in his career. Bollywood camps can only take you so far. Once you start giving flop films, they'll drop you like a hot potato.

So I somewhat agree with Akshay. Bollywood camps cannot make you, only successful films can.

He's a guy so it's easier for him than an actress to not be part of any camps. But his career probably would have been much easier at times if he was in one.

I like his stance on them; that means he can do a lot of different kind of films.
