Rishbala OS: Madhu's Little Heaven
Nothing warms her heart more than to watch her pati lull their baby girl to sleep. A soft smile graces her face, as Madhu watches RK protectively cradle Vibha in the crook of his arms. Hovering outside the room, it still amazes her that her very demanding and impatient husband always displays incredible patience and care towards the fruits of their loins. The world only knows him as the successful and arrogant Superstar RK. They wouldn't recognize the man inside the safety of the four walls they call home. He may scream PACK UP and OUT to all and sundry and rage like a beast, but to his family he is a chivalrous, gallant knight. Madhu grins as Vibha lets out another ear splitting scream, RK may have learned to temper his roar but his little princess has only just begun.
She gracefully turns around and walks into Arjun's room. Madhu smiles wistfully as she remembers the times she had to stay up all night with him, practically cajoling, imploring even begging for her Jr. Right Kameena to show some mercy and fall asleep quietly. Now he's all of 3 years old and according to him, a big boy. He no longer needs his mommy to rock him to sleep like a baby. It's ironic. She used to beg for deliverance from her little tyrant's nocturnal habits but now she misses it. Madhu wishes she could turn back time, freeze it and keep her baby boy, a baby forever. But there's joy in watching him grow up into a clever albeit mischievous young man. He's a spitting image of his father. Like a lost traveler on a lonely desert, she drinks up all the precious moments with her sweet children, her dearest husband and tucks it safely away for the future.
Needing to fret over Arjun as a mother is wont to do, Madhu pulls up the wayward blanket teething over the edge of the bed and tucks him in gently. She brushes his wayward strand of hair partially covering his eyes and drops a light kiss on his forehead. Reluctantly she leaves Arjun behind and drifts down the hall to her personal oasis, their bedroom. Madhu knows it will be a while before RK joins her, so she kicks open her house slippers and hops on to bed. Snuggling under the warmth of the blanket, she drifts off into a light, restless sleep.
Into the wee hours of the morning, she feels the weight of the bed shift. She feels RK wind his arm around her waist and hold her in a tight, protective embrace as he drifts off to sleep. Madhu opens her eyes and a gentle smile forms on her lips. The restlessness vanishes under his warm, loving embrace. In his protective arms, she silently thanks God for giving her RK and her two precious children. They are her world, her life, her very own heaven on earth.
