| | | | Work with me: Kareena Kapoor | Apparently, Kareena Kapoor and Harman Baweja are star-crossed. Sometime back, Kareena walked out of Baweja's debut film Love Story 2050 after shooting for four days.
Later, Harman opted out from a film to be directed by Mohit Suri because the female lead is Kareena Kapoor.
The latest on the film is that it's unlikely to go ahead. Suri has gone back to where he belongs — Vishesh Films, because Harman chickened out of the film.
Subject of concern
Apparently, the Tips film has been inspired by the Hollywood film Cruel Intentions, which has strong overtones of sex and incest.
Says a source, "When Harman learnt that the film had been inspired by Cruel Intentions, he refused it immediately. He did not even bother to know what his or Kareena's roles were. Cruel Intentions is a very bold film."
Not approved
When we speak to Harman, he sounds very nervous. He tries to put us on a different track by saying, "I am very much on with the Tauranis and Tips.
They are working on some subject for me. As for the film with Kareena, I don't want to talk about that. I don't want to get into that mess again."
Meanwhile, Ramesh Taurani refuses to admit that his project has fallen through.
"I am not making a film based on Cruel Intentions and incest. However, I am making a film that Mohit Suri will direct," he insists.
But a source close to the Baweja family admits, "Harman was approached for a Taurani-Suri film but he didn't approve of the subject. That's why he rejected it."
Suri was even less forthcoming when we called and later messaged him about the inspiration behind his film.
On track
Last year, Harman's father Harry Baweja got a big jolt when Kareena walked out of Love Story 2050. Then, Harman's 'good friend' Priyanka Chopra saved the situation by quickly stepping into Kareena's shoes.
"Love Story 2050 is almost complete. A few scenes remain to be shot. That will be done soon. The film will hit the theatres on December 21," Harman signs off.
