Shahid-Deepika share a mutual admiration

Mumbai: They might make a somewhat odd pair on the big screen, but that didn't stop Shahid Kapoor from walking up to Deepika Padukone at a recent event, and expressing his wish of working with her someday.
Our little khabrus at the event tell us that the little exchange occurred because Shahid was seated next to Dippy in the front row at the venue. Dippy took the time to compliment Shahid on his performance in Haider. What she didn't expect perhaps, was that Shahid would immediately express his desire to work with her.
"Being cordial and greeting each other is common courtesy, but Shahid was very genuine in expressing just how much he wanted to act with Deepika," our source reported. We also hear that the two young actors seemed to get on very well indeed, with Sasha later overhead ruing his lack of height to the statuesque Dippy.
"Shahid admires Deepika as an actor. He is hopeful that some intelligent writer will come up with a script that gives them the chance to work together," said a source close to Shahid when we asked about his new friend.
