Deepika Padukone received the award for Best Actor Female Popular Choice (Happy New Year) The beauty accepted the award gracefully but was quick to dedicate it to Queen fame Kangana Ranaut. "Thank you for this award but I really believe this year belonged to Kangana. So Kangana, this one's for you."
When SRK got addressed as Bhai'
Shah Rukh Khan bagged the title of Popular Choice Best Actor' (Happy New Year). But while he was up to acknowledge it with his thanksgiving speech, a rather awkward vibe shot from host Karan Johar, who went on to say, " Congrats Bhai.' KJo has always been calling SRK as Bhai but the audience was amazed to relate it to the iconic Bhai- Salman Khan!
Entertainment, entertainment, entertainment
Heropanti fame Tiger Shroff lit up the stage with deadly stunts and dedicated a segment to Michael Jackson. Jacqueline Fernandez on the other hand sizzled as she danced to the tunes ofChitian Kalaiyan, Jumme Ki Raat and Sooraj Dooba Hai. New bad boy in B-town Varun Dhawan presented a power packed act on his song Jee Karda.
The starry starry hosts
The list of hosts included Shah Rukh Khan, Sidharth Malhotra, Ali Fazal- Sapna Pabbi and Karan Johar. Sid goofed up in parts and didn't know how to cover up. The most hilarious moment of the night was when Sid called Citylights actress Patralekha, "Patrakar!" Really Mr Malhotra? Ali and Sapna's inexperience showed as they couldn't hold the interest of the audience for long. The tables were turned when Shah Rukh Khan entered the building and how!
We just Khan-t get enough
With his effortless and confident hosting stint, king Khan Shah Rukh proved that it is hard to beat him at the Game of Thrones. Where on one hand he poked fun at leading stars like Alia Bhatt and Tabu, on the other he put up a gentlemanly front with Hema Malini as he swayed with her to the tunes of Dreamgirl.
Dancing with the genius of the year
SRK asked Alia to enact the sexy dancing segment from Highway and the sporting babe happily obliged. It was a fun sight to see her pouting and pulling off the moves with swag!
Like mother like son
"I'm happy to receive the best jodi award. This is probably the first and the last time a mother-son jodi is being awarded," said Shahid Kapoor as he accepted the Screen Best Jodi award with Tabu for Haider. It was refreshing to see the couple being recognised for its brilliance. SRK being his usual witty self cracked us up when he told Tabu," I don't have a mother, why don't you come over sometime to show me your mamta!"
Actresses avoid animosity by sitting together
Yes for the rarest of times, Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra shared the same row. Not that they are rivals from wrong ends but it was a good sight to see contemporaries getting candid together, minus the animosity! Maybe others like Deepika, Katrina should take a cue from them?
Deepika's mysterious bonding with Shahid Kapoor
Now who would have thought of that? Deepika was spotted sitting with Shahid Kapoor, throughout the award ceremony. In fact, even while other actors like Priyanka, Alia were seen shuffling places in between, Dippy and Sasha stuck to their own place and enjoyed this new found bonding! Quite a story no?
Deepika's spontaneous krumping with Varun
Varun was one of the performers that night. But apart from his rocking jig on songs like Jee Karda and Besharmi Ki Night, he went on to pull it further by challenging Deepika to do a spontaneous Krumping. Being a sport, Dippy accepted the throw, went on stage and did all that was told, in high spirits. She Krumped in her saree and that was totally one moment of awe to watch!
Art Films get credited to splendor
Moving away from the usual trend of only rewarding big star entertainers and big budget films, Life OK Screen Awards 2015 acknowledged some brilliant art films like Aankhon Dekhi, Filmistaan and Manjunath, this year. Each of them walked away with trophies more than just once and that definitely made the felicitation, worth it! We hope to see such fair acclaims hitting more often.
