beautiful amal
awww!😳 thanks
Beautifully written, Amal...your description was splendid.
And Yes, while it is true that no human is perfect...it is not true that love is imperfect...they are two sides either it's love or not. And love can it be measured? No, right! Love is love!
I wish Prithvi weren't so challenged by his brain more than his heart. His hemispheres are road-working selfishness...but that's common in humans...who isn't selfish...but to such extent...that his love for Kripa seems more like an obsession than love..No I am not insulting love...but he once said he always wants to see Kripa happy...and we know and he knows Kripa will never be blooming with flowers with Angad miles away!
Yes, It is sad Josh had to die...his comical roles..made me smile always! Love him for that.
thanks Soni!😊
and of course i agree with you, love can never be imperfect. love is love and it cant ever be governed by any rules or regulations.
with regards to Prithvi, he has long past crossed the threshold of love into the realm of a maniacal obsession. he is so possesed with the thought of claiming Kripa for his own that he will now stop at nothing and spare no one to attain that goal.
and yes. Josh will be very sorely missed!!!
luv,
Amal

Hey Amal,
I do agree with most of what you've written. However, I'd have to question one part of the story: why is it that most of us have just written off Prithvi so very easily without asking _why_ this happened?
When this serial started, everyone loved this character; as things progressed, everyone grew puzzled at how he could remain such a saint; and now everyone plain despises him for having become so vile, or pities him because he has turned insane?
He has been turned insane because of being constantly used and spurned by KS - and no one quite points this out. I'd always thought that KS (Kripa) was being written very shoddily. Now I think that she has been written to be wicked! in the way that she has _used/abused_ Prithvi.
KS always had the choice of not abusing Prithvi and she knew it! She stood firm against Daadi when she urged her to marry Prithvi to give her unborn child a father; she argued with her mother about destroying her friendship with Prithvi just to gain respectability in society or to give her parents the pleasure.
But finally she went ahead and did it. And not just once, but when Prithvi gave her a chance to back out, she went ahead and did it again!
KYPH-writers have indeed created a monster, more than one, in fact! But the first monster they created - the one that is intangible and not so much in your face like Naina, or Karthik, or Mother Bose - is KS. It seems to me that they twisted her character and she is the reason that Poor Pathetic Prithvi has gone mad.
As much as Prithvi's characterisation has always puzzled me, it has always been KS' characterisation that has always disturbed me, from almost my very first post. :-/
-E (who's really puzzled why the Forum is so ready to ignore the desperately poorly thought out KS characterisation in KYPH)
Hey Elizabeth!😊
Bingo! Well, I wouldn't go so far as to call Kripa a 'monster' but you are right, this aspect of Kripa's behavior has always perplexed me as well. I think it's just one of those things that everybody, myself included, prefer to gloss over, preferring instead to focus on the whole Angad-Kripa angle, because we don't want to associate such negative vibes with our leading lady. But, you hit it bang on the head.
Okay, the first engagement with Prithvi was a misunderstanding and she backed out of it and it was fine. She refused to marry him simply for the sake of the baby claiming that she treasured their friendship too highly to do so and that was good too. She turned to him when everyone shunned her when she was pregnant, in a time of need, but that was acceptable too.
But then she sort of started using him for her own means and that was so not good. She let him propel her career to new heights, started staying in his home, let him stay away from his family, got him too involved in her feud with Angad and just too overall involved in her life and in the end I feel that she simply agreed to marry him to get back at Angad, hence her only token resistance, when Angad wanted her back, leaving Prithvi with only a "you are my best friend and always will be!!!" A bitter pill to swallow indeed.
I've said it before, Kripa's character development has not been up to the mark; the way she sometimes appeared downrightly callous when she was going through her 'get back at everyone phase', the way she did some very foolish deeds indeed and the way she, I sadly have to admit, led on Prithvi.
But, with regards to Prithvi, as I mentioned earlier, although I feel a mixture of revulsion and pity for him but I also feel that his character wasn't ever that goody-goody in the first place. He knew that Kripa belonged to Angad and Angad alone, yet did he not run after her always. True, it was always in the guise of a concerned friend, but now of course we know better. What I'm trying to say is that Kripa undoubtedly accelerated the phase of his descent into lunacy but she's not wholly responsible here.
Because I think it's something that's inside you that makes you resort to such stuff. Makes you capable of it. I mean, look at his mom, she was certainly capable of cold-bloodedly contemplating, nay; putting in action, plans to have Kripa bumped off. Look at his sister, who only protested to this plan on the point of, what would have happened to all of them if Damini had been caught?
And I have to say at this point that Prithvi's character has always made me uneasy, especially the way he acted after the a-k breakup. Call me cynical, but I don't have that much faith in the whole 'inherent goodness' of human beings theory to buy all that 'niceness' that the writers were trying to shove down our throats and I've simply been biding the time till this final revelation, for a long time now.
So basically, what I'm trying to say is that I feel that Prithvi always had these obsessive tendencies that ultimately led him down this path of madness, but yeah, Kripa did definitely nudge along the whole process. Because in my opinion, its not ppl (in this case Kripa), but circumstances that create monsters.
Please do feel free to point out the holes in my flawed reasoning.😊
luv,
Amal
