She tossed and turned, and then again turned to other side, her lips never letting go of the smile that was plastered since he left.

What was happening? Why she was still awake? Why all her thoughts were surrounded by his thoughts? Why she was blushing and smiling like a maniac? Were these initial symptoms of going officially insane?

For heaven's sake, he is married, and a father at that!' she muttered, she can't think like that about him... it's bad.'

But she knew that perhaps now was too late, may be last straw had been taken, and she was absolutely in some kind of feelings with him. But who wouldn't? he was handsome, rich and an absolute gentleman!

What would he think about it? He just helped her, and she had audacity to take his genuine care and concern in some other way? He would have done this for anyone, any other girl. But the thought enough made her nauseous, her heart filled with jealousy and hurt, and her sleep was long lost.

Next day she reached quite early than before, she was hardly in her cabin when she saw Subbu already present, perhaps waiting for her?

She walked upto him and stood still, her demeanor confident than never before.

Subbu turned towards her, and looked at her with expressionless face, and started, "I needed that Grape project file, and all the finance data, you are Sir's secretary, and only you have access to his cabin. I am handling the Accounts of that project, I need them for studying."

Ishita was quite surprised seeing his changed behavior and no vile thing uttered, and when she was about to leave he said, taunting, and "No matters how much you complain to my Anna, things between us will never change Ishu..."

At that she turned towards him anguished and said, "Stop calling me Ishu... Its Ishita Iyer for you... and for work's sake learn to be professional, this is office and not your Amma's house." And then calmed her voice upto the formal and said calmly, "I am bringing those files for you... wait."

And saying so she entered his cabin, and as she entered, her senses got filled with him, his smell, his feel and his thoughts. She mindlessly picked up the grape file and came out, locking the door behind and handed over the file to Subbu, quite lost and with a smile adoring her face, making it glow like never before, making Subbu little surprised, but he said nothing and walked of leaving smiling Ishita.

It was almost 11 AM, but Raman was in his worst of moods, he had already shouted on two employees and even Mihir and also the receptionist, everyone was in fix about what to do... his temper was very bad and sometimes worst, and was one thing that everyone was scared about. Nobody wanted to go near him and become a prey, and so when Ishita thought that now there was no way in which she could escape from his wrath and had to go in his cabin to check his timetable for the day, she muttered a silent pray to her Murugan and knocked twice and entered, while he was on call.

As she entered, his eyes fell on her ablaze, and she could feel his temper rising, she nonetheless stood on the spot rooted, her head bowed down, her lower lip between her lips, and her fingers fidgeting the notepad, waiting for him to finish the call, that he did, and looked at her anguished and said in menacing tone.

"What the hell you are doing here? Don't you see that I was on call? Who do you think you are? Just get out now, I don't want to see anyone right now..." he said harshly.

While she just stood there and said softly, "...but sir your time table for today..." she couldn't complete when he roared.

"Do you understand English Miss. Iyer?" and then seeing her nodding little hurt, he continued, "Then Get the hell out of here... NOW!"

She said nothing, just left at once.

After yesterday, she had thought differently, but it seemed like last night never happened. She was hurt by his tone with her, would be an understatement.

"Don't worry and don't feel bad... he is like that, sometimes he is just too rude and harsh. He scolded me two times today, can you imagine?" Mihir smiled patting her back.

"But, I was just there to show him his time table... he didn't even listen..." she complained.

Mihir just smiled and said, "Ishu, forget about him, tell me if he's is bothering you?"

"Well off course he is... Didn't you see just now... I mean I thought to..." she couldn't complete when Mihir jumped up, his eyes filled with fury and said or rather roared,

"That Son of Bitch! What he did? Just say and today I am going to break him in two pieces... Mihika already told me about that arse..."

"Hey! Hey! Hey! How can you talk about him like that? You just can't verbally abuse him, like that! Isn't he supposed to be your ideal? I mean, it's not much of a big deal, I know he must be having his own tensions and then he is a father of a small girl, and also father of so many companies... and..." she went on and on when Mihir stopped at once and sat back down confused.

"What are you about? Are you alright? Since when you started advocating that A-hole?" Mihir asked confused.

"Advocating? Whom are you talking about?" she asked equally confused.

"That Subhramanium..." Mihir answered with disdain.

"But I was not..." she said exasperated.

"Then about whom?" Mihir asked, confused.

"Well... no one", she sighed.

"Tell me... you can tell you anything and you know that... right?" Mihir said.

"I know... I was... I mean... I was talking about Raman Sir..." she said fidgeting.

"You... you were talking about Bhai?!" she could hear surprise in his voice.

"Well you thought I would be wasting away my thoughts on Subbu?" she said smiling.

"You like him, don't you?" he asked out of blue, cutting her.

"What?" Ishita exclaimed, ""What do you mean I like him? Why would you say that?"

"Well... I just..." Mihir said as if clarifying.

"Subbu was my past, and right now I hate nothing more in world than him." She said calmly.

"I know! But I was asking if you like Bhai?" Mihir said with a knowing smirk.

"Wh..What is that supposed to mean?" she stuttered nervously.

"I think I just got my answer..." he said and turned and walked away.

While all Ishita could do was call him in fail, "hey... It's nothing like that okay..."

Her smiling at him with that lost look was least thing he wanted to be the first thing to witness that morning, as he entered in office, especially that morning, after such a beautiful night of togetherness. Was she not yet over him yet? But he knew the answer to well... after all he too was not over his first love, not even after knowing its doomed fate from the beginning. Then how can he expect her to forget her first love especially that was reciprocated at one point of time, they after all had a history together. And he was just a lost page, and unimportant chapter whom she didn't bothered to remember, who was not more than a wallflower whom no one ever bothers to take a notice of.

But it hurt, he just wanted to be her protector, but it seemed that she was actually not all that bothered by him. May be it was a signal to back off now. May be it was the best option.

He never wanted to burst his anger on her, but he just couldn't control, he knew that she was hurt by his harsh temper, but seeing her reminded him of that smile and look transpiring between her and Subbu that morning. Like it was mocking him, no matters how much big he becomes but he would never be enough for her, she would always choose Subbu over him. And this fact hurt!

While thinking everything, he stood near the glass partition binding his cabin and started noticing everyone, working, smiling, conversing seriously, discussing and then at her smiling at Mihir, blushing, as Mihir exiting her cabin.

Only if he was the cause of her blush someday, but he could only dream about that, this was too much of a waste fantasy. May be this was a wakeup call.

Just then he heard knock on his cabin door and then entered his only friend and confidant, Mihir.

"Andar aa jau?" he asked

"*Nahi* bolunga to chala jayega? Nahi na... toh bol..." he said anguished at his intrusion.

"Kya Bhai... why are you so upset today?" he asked.

"I am not..." Raman said and then continued picking up a file to read from his table, "What is it you want to say that you are here? I am little busy with work, speak up and leave."

"This tone bhai... you even scolded Mihika's sister? What I am going to do if she is going to tell about your behavior to her? She is going to kill me... you know how protective she is of her, don't you?" Mihir said.

"So what do you want me to do... ask for her forgiveness just because Mihika wear pants in your lousy relationship? Don't bother me by your stupid suggestions and leave already, I am really busy right now, and I don't have time for all this discussion." Raman said annoyingly.

"Bhai! Please, be little considerate with Ishu... she is a nice girl you know, and she was here just to give you an update of your timetable, and you shouted at her..." Mihir said.

"This is not a Family Business my friend, this is an Multinational Company, So I think I know who to treat like what... and she was MY secretary the last time I checked and so you need not to be bothered of anything regarding her." Raman stated coolly.

"Bhai I didn't mean it like that... but she is..." Mihir couldn't continue when Raman cut him.

"Mihir... I know that you are bothered that I am acting like the devil after her life but trust me I don't have any personal grudge towards her, and if she is that bothered than you don't need to advocate from her side, rather just let her prosecute herself. Is that clear?" Raman said and dipped his head in file in hand.

"I think she likes you..." Mihir blurted before he could check himself, and immediately cursed himself for being an idiot.

"What!" Raman gasped. His eyes widened, and jaw dropped.

"...I think... Bhai Mihika must be waiting for my call... I was supposed to call her 15min earlier!" Mihir stuttered standing up.

"Mihir! Stop!" Raman stood up and walked towards him, and just stopped infront of him and held him by his shoulders and asked, "What did you just say?"

"B..hai... that Mihika ... must be... wa..iting..." he couldn't complete when Raman cut him.

"No before that..."

"That please be soft tempered with Ishu..." Mihir said, trying to let go of death grip of his hands.

"After that Mihir!" Raman asked exasperated.

"I don't understand... I don't know..." Mihir said, little afraid of his reaction.

"What about her liking me and stuff?" Raman said anguished of the delay.

"Oh that! It was just a slip of a tongue... it wasn't meant like that..." he chuckled nervously.

"Really?" Raman asked point blank.

"Bhai... It was really... nothing..." Mihir said.

"I don't think someone liking me is that small of a thing... now is it?" Raman asked, with a small smile.

Mihir looked at him surprised, and said, "So you are not angry?"

"Should I be?" Raman asked.

"But you always are... I mean in past..." Mihir said and then looked at him wide eyed and asked astonished, "You went to SRCC! And she too, does that mean what I mean?"

"Well what do you mean?" Raman asked confused.

"She is that girl?" Mihir asked wide eyed.

"What girl?" Raman asked doubtfully, he was sure nobody knew about his small secret.

"The same girl Bhai that you often talk about when you are or you used to be drunk..." Mihir smiled a thousand megawatt smile cracking the double mysteries in one day... This had to be the craziest day of his life! He thought smirking, Mihiku would be so proud!

"What are you even talking about... I don't remember talking about anyone, and besides..." Raman said cleaning the mess he created.

"I understand bhai, you don't need to clarify..." he said smirking, with that he stood up to walk outside, when he was grabbed by collars,

"YOU ARE NOT ABOUT TO UTTER A SINGLE SYLLABLE OF THIS CONVERSATION TO ANYONE, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN BY ANYONE? AND ESPECIALLY MIHIKA, NOT AT ANY COST OR I AM GOING TO GRATE YOU AND IT WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR ANYONE TO FIND YOUR SINGLE PART, AND TRUST ME ON THIS! YOU UNDERSTAND ME?" Raman said in a very strict voice, making him nervous and sweaty of his threat.

"Of course bhai... your secret's safe with me..." he mumbled and exited.

While Raman smiled wickedly and looked towards her cabin, and said to himself, "So she likes me... We''ll see what we can do about it..." and with that he went back and took his chair, satisfied, and quite at peace than before.

Thanks a lot yaar... I am so happy that you liked it so much... I always give frequent updates, that's for what I am known here, in this forum... Actually I went under this eye surgery and so the updates got delayed, but now I am back so will be updating on a regular basis!😃
