An idiosyncratic analysis of 9/8

Hi all. Hectic days have meant that i can come on the forum only once, so just wrote replies to yesterday's responses right now... Anu, i love you for saying I'm the one for Gaurav... and Teena if you watch lrl courtesy my analysis, do you think that i can get the lrl team to pay me a percentage for every convert?... toh waapas tumhaare paas aa jaaongi! Sam, poor Narayani indeed... check my reply and you'll know who i'm saving all my sympathy for!

Ok, to get down to analysis... only one Abhimanyu scene today. Teena you are right... it is better make up... and i kept thinking it was better light... but again everyone was looking good today.... in today's scene, I kept thinking of Samay (mullah ki daud masjid tak)... somehow he reminded me of Samay in the very way in which he was standing... i think because that intensity and control are indelibly associated with Samay in my mind... anyway, so Abhimanyu is listening to music in his room when Gehlot appraoches... incidentally, what happened to the sherwani thing he wore earlier, in the only other night scene he has had so far, where he, Naina and Capt Rajveer are trying to break that profound code? ... hamare prince toh bahut hi unprincely night wear pe aa gaye hai... anyway, so Gehlot asks him to lie... will he or won't he?... no clue and will not guess... just wait for Monday to dawn (monday se pehle nahi aayega 😊)

In terms of the acting, yesterday's distance and control were still there... they worked better for this scene too... Abhimanyu is Capt Rajveer's friend, not Gehlot's... with Gehlot he has a hierarchical, superior - subordinate relationship, so he will be as formal as he was in this scene... What i particularly liked about Gaurav's acting in this scene: First of all, when Gehlot asked him if he had actually witnessed the whole scene, i liked the way he nodded with his eyes... yes you read that right... he nodded, did not say anything... thats what you will remember from the scene... but go back and you'll see that the nodding is done with the eyes... aur bus aise hi small touches dekh ke khush ho jaati hoon main... not just no dialogue, also minimal movement...

Then when Gehlot said i have seen Capt Rajveer all my life, he could not have done this... there was a very slight clenching of the lip... a kind of 'aap toh yehi sochenge' kind of thing.... that was not the dominant strand of Abhimanyu's response to Gehlot... just a very slight suggestion of impatience... and i thought that was a good touch.... though i do want to remind the writers that when they last showed Abhimanyu and Gehlot together, they were perfectly fine with each other (Black eyed peas, remember) and there was no suggestion of resentment... as per the new track, i can understand the resentment... but thoda toh yaad rakh liya kariyein ki last inn dono characters ko ek frame mein kab rakha tha aur unhone kya kiya tha tab?!

Well, thats about it... thought the rest was competent. Too tired to think or write further.

well i like the initial surprised and a smiling look on abhi's face when he first sees gehlot on opening the door. it was genuine real - a relief from the seriousness that is always shown on abhi's face for the past few days. honestly i miss the old abhi - yeh to devdas se kam nahin lag raha aaj kal. somewhere i feel that abhi and raj have lost each other i can't help wondering will they ever be that close, that good friends again? i need to see more of them togther to foresee what turn their relnship might take.
and now the great abhi-gehlot scene. both respect each other, abhi more because gehlot's an authoritative, influential person. but i feel that abhi knows more abt gehlot than raj does. abhi had already mentioned if there is nothing untoward going on in raj's professional life it is because of gehlot only - and yes he was rite. gehlot is trying to manipulate abhi. abhi on the other hand thinks the man is using his influence and letting his love for his son come before duty. i don't blame abhi for resenting. raj misunderstands abhi but fails to see the actual side of gehlot - that influential side. and this fact irritates abhi to no extent and that will make him go against raj. which is exactly what gehlot wants of course.
the saddest part is that everyone from raj to the cadets misunderstand abhi - reason - he lives by his principles. but then isn't everyone else doing the same thing - to each his own. then why point fingers at abhi alone. the only person who understood and trusted abhi despite his flaws was naveen or else he would never have mentioned the red box to abhi.
rite now abhi is undergoing an internal struggle - so the walkman music scene i guess - and this struggle will go on till he comes across a plausible soln to save raj. which i hope comes soon.

Jab maine wo scene dekha to sirf ek cheez mere dimaag mey atak gayi... Gehlot manipulated Abhi is most amazing way possible...

lets the see the dialogs between the two...
Gehlot asks Abhi to lie for Raj... he then asks -did u really saw him kill the Col? Abhi looks at Gehlot (btw... Shwetal... lips and eyes movements 😉 😉 I feel something fishy here 😉 😉 ... kuch chakkar hai kya? 😆 😆 ).... Abhi's expression did seem sad and as if tired of the day's happenings....
Gehlot then says something about Col. Shakti calling him. My shock was wonderfully reflected by Abhi... 😆 😆 ...
After this jo hua... the way Gehlot says - ya he had called me saying that the Red Box was with him and Raj was behind the box... he wanted the box any way possible.
Aha... bang on.... treachery... politics... to its ugly sense.... Gehlot manipulated Abhi in such a way that it looks like Gehlot only wants to get Raj out... but in this he is throwing hints that Raj is involved in the wrong side .... he just wants the Red Box and he can kill even an innocent soldier for it.....
Abhi's expression very well showed the shock and later when Gehlot again asks will he lie for Raj he had the most serious expression....!!!


I dont know yaar... but I am getting to understand that the writers are sewing the web to Raj's departure pretty shrewdly 😡

sometimes I have to watch courtesy your analysis , no doubt... 😉sometimes I watch for different reasons. but since I watch it online... so I dun think they are going to pay you anything.... but you come here anyway... this is the place for you...😃

As about Gaurav's acting... I always feel ... he does not need dialogues.... 😊
