Analysis and explaination to Baldev's condition and behavior

first and foremost for the ones who think he is normal, he is not normal,he has been psychologically affected very deeply,in other words like everyone calls it he is a psycho and the actions of a psycho is psychotic and unpredictable,u wont know what they will do or how they will react to a situation hence people around them no matter what psychological illness one is suffering with will definitely be stressed out.

Baldev suffers from a psychological condition called PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder).

if you analyse the events of the past few months,it has put baldev in huge mental stress, ranvi's opposition for VeeBa's marriage sighting baldev as a gunda,he was sent to jail after the dangal incident and everyone taunted him when he only tried to save veera and fought only to defend her,then the liqour case he was framed for the liqour case and was put behind bars and nobody trusted him, nobody but for him what other ppl thought didnt matter what veera thought of him mattered but veera let him down by slapping him and humiliating him and calling him a gunda and saying that her brother was right baldev is not worthy of her and this shattered him. see just like how for veera her brother is the centre of her universe, for baldev he loves veera so much that veeera became the centre of his universe and this is not healthy just like veera's veerji obsession is not healthy.cuz for baldev veera matters the most,matters more than himself,everything in his life revolves around her,its like he has no life of his own,veera unknowingly became his god and it doesnt help him that for veera her brother is god,for any man veera's veerji obsession would not go down well it will definitely affect them psycologically but for baldev because of how he loves her and how mush she means to him it affects him a 1000 times more!

After much hardship and after going through all this crap when he is finally about to get married to her, on his wedding day he witnesses nihal chachu dead and then he finds his jeep jack next to chachu as the weapon used to kill him,he was shocked and scared more than one could tell and then the police arrives and arrests him for the murder he did not commit and ranvi wanted to give eyewitness against him and everyone believed he killed chachu and called him a murderer imagine the shock and the stress he had to go through in all this and add to this he was tortured day and night in jail,he was physically and mentally abused,the whole experience was a trauma not just the torture (which would obviously traumatize anyone) baldev was wounded physically but his psychological wound is much much much greater and deeper.but for baldev like i said earlier the rest of the world deosnt matter,he could bear what the rest of the world says or does to him cuz for him they dont matter,the only thing that matters to him is what veera thinks,what veera says and what veera does. he still had hope cuz he believed that veera trusted him and is supporting him, he said it several times that he was willing to go through more pain if veera trusted him and beleived him.everyone who go through a traumatic experience dont suffer from full blown PTSD,they will definitely have side effects of that trauma but not necessarily PTSD , trauma makes ppl vulnerable to PTSD cuz they get psychologically wounded but it really depends on one's mental strength like for example many soilders after a war suffer from PTSD or Delayed Onset PTSD but that doesnt mean all soldiers suffer from this mental illness.

even after this huge traumatic expeience and though baldev was mentally wounded he was still mentally strong cuz he had hope in veera so his mental wound was harmless. when veera married baldev he was over the moon cuz believed even after all that happened if veera herself was wanting to marry him it means that she trusted him,believed him and wants to support him,he didnt desire marriage at that moment, all he wanted was her trust ,the source which gave him hope and kept him mentally strong.but when veera told him that she married him only to save his life and told him that he will not murder deliberately but out of anger he could murder cuz he has no control of his anger, that last ray of hope he had vanished,the only mental strength he had collapsed and this trigered his PTSD in other words baldev was vulnerable to this disease but he did not have it but what veera said on their suhaagraat pushed him into it.

when a person has PTSD the common symptoms of the desease is that the sufferer will have hallucinations,nightmares and have flashbacks as though they are reliving the traumatic experience and will loose all control over their anger and when they lose their control they have no idea what they are doing and are prone to agressive behaviour, they avoid anything and everything that reminds them of the trauma and they keep their traumatic experience to themselves and avoid talking about it with anyone and and everyone,they become reclusive and they become ashamed, guilty and become self destructive and there are many more symptoms but am only talking of the ones visible in baldev. he has completely lost control of his anger, sometimes he deliberately expresses his anger towards veera like the tea incident where he put salt in his tea deliberately to make it undrinkable or the time when he insulted veera infront of the guests,sometimes he has no idea what he is doing out of his anger,like the time he ousted her out of the house and then the way he reacted when veera told him about visiting the psycatrist. even if he is doing this deliberately or not even if he is hurting her to show her how much she has hurt him,it all goes onto say he has no control over his anger,what we have to understand is all this is a part of his PTSD and his mental instability.some ppl think its abnormal for a mentally ill person to be mean to one person and normal with all other, i wud like to correct you its very normal for one to be cruel with one person and be normal with all other, here baldev's actions towards veera is sprouting from the hurt she has caused him aggravated by his illness, he is Angry with her not the rest of the world cuz the rest of the world didnt and doesnt matter to him and he has lost control of this anger. he was even mean to balwant clearly showing he cannot manage his anger but balwant has not done anything to hurt him,veera has! and like i said earlier for baldev only what veera thinks, says and does matters to him.Anger is a defense mechanism to hide one's pain and vulnerability. behind baldev's anger is his immeasurable pain and hurt,he might look strong on the outside but he is an utterly broken man inside and veera broke him and his situation is aggravated by his PTSD and this is why baldev is acting this way with veera specifically
