Sakshi Tanwar was born on 12 January 1973 into a middle-class family from Alwar, Rajasthan. Her father Rajendra Singh Tanwar is a retired CBI officer. She was educated in many Kendriya Vidyalayas (Central School) and graduated from Lady Shri Ram college in New Delhi. During her preparations for the entrance tests for the administrative services and mass communications, her close friend suggested that she should go and audition for the national broadcaster Doordarshan's film songs based program Albela Sur Mela. She got selected and from there begun her journey in television.
The role of Parvati in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii gave her a big break.
Sakshi has worked in other serials .including Devi ,where she played the central character of Gayatri ,who is spiritually inclined women with a strong connection to Goddes durga.She also did a digital film Kahin Door, directed by Sandeep Varma, in 2002. Her work in Colors most popular show Balika Vadhu, as Teepri was also well appreciated. She appeared in a few movies in 2008, one of them being Coffee House, in which she was the main protagonist. She has also done a cameo role in Ekta Kapoor's C Kkompany.
Sakshi has also played the role of a municipal officer in the movie saluun.
she appeared in two short films O Re Manwa and Bawra mann.O Re Mnawa won the best international narrative short at New York international film festival in 2009.
IN 2011 Her Bawra Mann was also well praised and also the film won many National and International Accolades.
She worked as a creative director in the production company Positive Thinkerz and tried her hands directing Sammaan Ek Adhikaar.
She has Currently she is playing the female lead role in Bade Ache Lagte Hai and this serial is enjoying tremendous popularity in India as well as abroad.
She is the only one who appeared in Kaun Banega Crorepati most of the times 👏
Sakshi personal life :Sakshi tanwar is more of music person ,but when she gets to watch Tv It is Balika Vadhu , Crime Patrol Bade achhae lagte hain and KBC which are her favourites .she don't see herself as a participant in any reality shows .KBC is different so she wants to be part of it in every season of the show .
