No...not the musical one😉!! A tie, as in a tie breaker...as when two opponents are equals...no winners or losers here...or may be should call it a deadlock!!
Yes, its a tie...a tie between Nandini's values and Manik's passions. Its a tie between Nandini's morals and Manik's madness. To Nandini this just does not seem right, and Manik cannot fathom what is wrong. And this tie or knot had to appear the moment these two met under the canopy of a relationship.
As similar as they are in certain aspects, in others they are as different as chalk and cheese. Their respective backgrounds and upbringing couldn't be more diverse.
Nandini comes from a loving and traditional background, where certain morals have been imbibed in her from day one. The boundaries have been highlighted, and certain limits should not be crossed written across the sky in blazing letters. And further, she is a very mature and responsible kid, given her young 17 years. Also she has the sense to not accept what does not seem right. If her conscience is not comfortable with what is happening, she will speak up!! Essentially what started the conflict between her and Fab 5 from day one. And what almost did happen, did not sit right with her. Manik's jumping the gun in physical intimacy, got her thinking. Kudos to her and her sensibility and sensitivity, in her place, any other girl would have been bulldozed or rushed into an intimacy which she might not have been ready for at all. Lets face it, in certain situations, when you are with the guy you like and especially if the guy is Manik, saying no is not easy. Boys don't like speed breakers when they are hell bent on full gear..
Manik...well lets just say that he brought himself up. Whatever he has learnt has been taught by life and circumstance. It's a wonder he still knows the difference between right and wrong...kudos to the guy!! He comes from a background where physical intimacy is very natural and casual. Its a part of life, and they take it in their stride. For their sect, its not a big deal!! It's natural, real, no pretense, no artifice. Physical intimacy is a gradual progression of a relationship, a part and parcel of dating. Some, have the maturity and good taste to discriminate, while some go about it blindly. Manik by temperament is an artist and has passions that go with it. He has always been ruled by his strong connects. A head strong guy who follows his instincts. He follows his heart and the world be damned. Manik does not believe in boundaries. A creator at heart, rules don't apply. And when it comes to people he loves, nothing can hold him back. The ones he holds near and dear, he gives them the world. But he doesn't know how to express his love, a man of very few words, he hates sharing feelings or emotional talks, avoids them a mile, and starts halting and stammering as he fails to find words that show the depth of his sentiments. Naturally, for him, physical expression of love comes easily and naturally, while words come by few and far. Physical proximity is how he shows his love...its an extension of himself.
And that's precisely what happened today, he was trying to tell her that she need not be insecure, there was no cause for jealousy. He said..no words needed...his actions proved his love, for him the physical intimacy he shares with Nandini, is a simple yet strong expression of his love. That's his way of showing commitment to this relationship. That shows his level of involvement, how deep he was in her. But for Nandini, it was something else. This expression was not what she was comfortable with, this closeness made her awkward. It felt like she was compromising with her morals, deserting her values for momentary pleasures. Somewhere, she felt she was betraying herself. She felt out of her depth, out of control, felt like she was being swept off in a place where she did not want to be...definitely not right now!! Nandini is not ready for this language of love, while Manik has mastered this art. Manik takes this aspect for granted, while Nandini thinks its a privilege to be granted.
For Manik, this is how he expresses his love, for Nandini it might have shades of lust. Manik is thirsting for love and Nandini starving for some respect. Its a deadlock...a tie!! When a guy like Manik dates a girl like Nandini, this was bound to happen. So glad that the cvs kept it real, their first fight was not about external factors like Soha but it was all about differences in their lifestyles, their way of thinking and feeling. Both right in their way, their bond intact, just their outlooks are different. It could not have been any other way. There was bound to be a clash, a beginning...a tie!! And we need a tie breaker...their love!!
It will come with time, with knowing each other, recognizing each other's needs, respecting each other's wishes. They come from totally different lands, where the language spoken is not the same...and yet they have to learn how to communicate. With time, she will know the love that hides behind his actions, and he will respect the maturity that underlines her words. With time Manik will learn to listen to her nos and Nandini will practise how to deal with his yeses. Love will teach them patience, will teach one how to let go and the other how to hold on. Love will teach one how to control, while the other how to loose inhibitions. Manik will learn how to accept boundaries and Nandini will learn how to live free.
Till then...its a tie!!
P.S...absolutely in love with the cvs for keeping our MaNan so real!!
