Games - that was the central thread running through today's epsiode !!

And almost all of them were games of life and death, in one way or the other !

Game 1:

Sam and is dangerous reckless game of life and death

The boy has grown up toying with death, now a rich nana has not been able to tame his love for thrill and adventure

His lucky mascot is his dost, the half bill !

Game 2:

Another dangerous game is afoot, that swami balivesh and Grerson are planning, during the Mahakumbh

And these people who seek immortality for themselves place no value on others life, as was seen in the Kumbh mela when they kidnapped Shivananda - they could blow up a bridge and jeopardize many lives to capture one man alive !

Game 3:

The one that was being played by the slime ball khoye paye pande, pretending to be swami ka chamcha to his face and scheming to trap him behind his back!

Who is playing whom, yeh toh dekhna padega!

Game 4:

Woh jo Maimui was playing to phasao her bitwa in the prem jaal of Maya ! Her childlike excitement at playing matchmaker for Rudra was cute to see! Again a game of life and death, for Maimui wants to take her son out of the world of the dead into the world of the living !

Game 5:

The game of love that Maya is playing with Rudra, but does she know that she's playing with fire?

I think today she must have got a very good idea

Of the volcano that is bottled up inside him

The fear, the terror and anguish that Rudra carries inside him,

Can explode with just a word or a phrase and a romance with Rudra will not be easy!

Game 6:

Of course the simple delightful game that Rudra bhaiyya was playing with the kids

They obviously love him and he enjoys the simplicity of playing with children

An extrenely complex man who enjoys the simple games that give joy to children

So, I guess this week is all about setting the scene for the Mahakumbh !!!

Swami ji was talking in Sanskrit!

Ok, it was a good episode, it felt Like a game of chess is being played, some initial moves are being made, so that the board is set and all the pawns are in place before checkmate !

Rating of 4/5, Payal - i am still not very impressed I am sorry, nor do I find punnu interesting!

Charles - not bad, aage dekhenge!

Thank you Arshiji for the update. I like the systematic way you have brushed up the tableau for us to have an insight of what is to follow. It also brings out the complexity of this serial and about how the makers are paving the way to the events.

I have not seen the episode today, but from what I have seen of Maya so far Rudra is too strong a character for her and she will find it difficult to match up to his intensity.

Kiranji, I agree with you completely. While all the other cast is very well chosen, the leading lady doesn't seem to match up to the level of gauti. I hope we change our minds later, so far, she's just so so!

Arshics, nicely pointed out the games between games! Time for action!!

I'm not so impressed with Rudra's bottled up anger, OTT anger was not something we witnessed in little Rudra... his anger seems like an insane person who is very imbalanced mentally.

I think little Rudra left a challenge for old Rudra and a star mark for viewers like me. I'm constantly getting disappointed with current Rudra's attitude...

Neel, we are a little taken aback by this raging bull behavior of Rudra. Let's hope there's a reason behind this and not just poor writing and direction.

As of now this Rudra doesn't seem to be like his childhood self which was excellently portrayed !

So my theory is right...the complexity of dread (history repeating itself) and rage (revenge, protect) in Rudra and the same was depicted in the flashback when Allahabad is mentioned.

However, agree that the OTT rage depicton is still a problem and way off the context...Sadly Rudra was spitting more than speaking in that breakdown scene...😕...In the effort to portray rage there was shouting in which the dialogues were being mouthed too fast and all you could gather was spit running down his face, lots of incoherent screaming and an angry face...

Adult Punnu is also way off the mark..😔

Also agree that the female lead is just so-so...from a characterisation perspective she is supposed to have a certain gravitas or therav...a certain inherent calmness / grace under fire / people skills which would be highly attractive to the volatile and introvert Rudra thereby making him interested to reach out to her...unfortunately she seems to be playing her character out as a chirpy, PYT who with her banal and school girl antics will break through...and even in this her limitations are showing up because the whole chirpy act comes across as a put-on and really artificial...considering the pace & nature of the show I fully expect both to fall in love over some silly incident and maybe more screen time devoted to them in the medium term.. ...this is really a bad bad sign considering that some future epis would already have been canned...

I typically do not follow hindi shows...but this shows how much SC has spoiled me...Saras & Kumud in their worst and most crazy days at least had their own chemistry so intact, untouched and pure that we had that magic to look forward to...

I guess actors play off each other and here I do not see that dance happening...

It feels somehow that the show's team spent all their time & talent to start it right by getting the right actors and then somehow lost interest / ran out of time and got adult role actors without a proper due diligence...Babbal specializes in show start-ups and then leaves it to other teams to take over...Is this going to be an inadvertent fatal flaw even if he is producing the whole show - expertise / old habit of getting the start right, but then lacking the experience to run it through and through? 😕

5th Jan episode was much better.

Yesterday's episode was ok-ok.

Maya is too comfortable with Rudra right from the first encounter and that is inexplicable and perplexing. Hope there is a back story.

There is a 'saadgi' in the locales and characters that is impressing. Maya has that girl-next-door look and I like that. Dialogues are very good. Much better than in SC(they were too ott and dramatic at times in SC).

For me, Rudra's anger is way too much. But that said, Gautam's expressions when he is not angry are good. Very rustic.

@Hgg ji, Arvind Babbal and Utkarsh have written the whole show already. GR said that the total script is locked. So there is no question of Arvind starting and handing off to someone.

Rudra is way too angry. But then his name just means that. Anger. Uncontrolled one that too. Coming to Maya I expect her behavior to be artificial. If there is no artificiality feel to her then the name fails.

Her girl next door image is charming mai mui, but Rudra is not comfortable with her.

I expect him to see through the layers she has. Only person who will be able to control Maya will be Rudra only. Everyone else is supposed to fall in her charm.

If you look from Mythology perspective Maya or YogaMaya is an incarnetation of Goddess Parvati born to protect Krishna from Kamsa. Hence in this avatar she is Shiva's consort and Vishnu's sister.

Even from Harry Potter perspective Hermoine is Ron's GF and Harry tells she is like his sister. Hermoine also plays as a protector for the team in many occasion.

So Payal is that character who is love interest to one and sister to another and plays a very important role. That is protection.
