Priyanka Chopra's role in 'Madamjee' inspired by a controversial star wife

Mumbai: It is known by now that Priyanka Chopra is playing an item girl-turned-politician in Madhur Bhandarkar's upcoming film Madamjee.
While the character has distinct shades of the life of a particular publicity-hungry item girl in Bollywood who tried her hand at politics, it has now come to light that Priyanka's character in Madamjee would also borrow elements from the life of a particular star wife whose husband has gotten himself into some serious trouble.
Says a source, "PeeCee's character in Madamjee is more about this star wife who once used to be an item girl. After she got married to the star, her husband had to personally request and often buy off controversial footage featuring his wife."
For obvious reasons, no one from the film's team is speaking about the reference point for Priyanka's character.
