The old lady of Boribunder versus Deepika Padukone
The Bombay Times found itself in a social media war with Deepika Padukone when Padukone picked on an old tweet put out by the paper's Twitter account. Next thing we knew, Bombay Times was publishing explanations for its conduct and accusing Padukone of hypocrisy on page one of the supplement. Twitter started frothing at its mouth and soon 'TOI' was trending almost like 'NaMo' had before the polls, Padukone was on different news channels and as some pointed out maybe it didn't hurt Padukone's next release Finding Fanny which otherwise would have been more indie-fare.

Let's be fair to Alia Bhatt, one of Bollywood's most promising young stars -- she's talented but, as we realised when Bhatt revealed her lack of general knowledge on Koffee with Karan, she's not the brightest spark. She does, however, appear to have some rather smart friends, like Karan Johar and the comedy collective AIB. AIB's online sketch, showing Bhatt going to a brain gym, went viral and was a hilarious slap in the face of all the memes and jokes made about Bhatt and her absent general knowledge.
Funny and self-deprecating, Bhatt made quite an impression with the video. The fact that she could laugh at herself made it a treat to watch. It was also a rather shrewd PR gig that did wonders for Bhatt's popularity and helped AIB establish itself as Bollywood's go-to guys for comedy. Cynics might point out that Bhatt was following a script and that AIB is being folded into the Bollywood machine, instead of holding on to the identity that made them popular (that of outsiders who could rip celebrities apart because they weren't dependent on them in any way). But that's just a small clique in hipster Bandra. Everyone else was watching the AIB roast featuring, among others, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
Naked Aamir Khan. Enough said.
Three months after it hit the internet, we'er still staring at the picture below with a mix of shock, awe, consternation and great amounts of respect for Aamir Khan's patience and his hair-epilation team. That's why this man deserves to be on this list. While Khan really doesn't need to drop his pants to convince people to watch his films, it's understandable if he didn't want to take any risk after Dhoom:3. Aamir, who is usually known for his acting chops and great selection of subjects, essayed a caricature of a character in Dhoom:3 and ended up with bad styling, bad dialogues, and bad action sequences. No wonder then the PK makers needed an eye-popping pant-dropping PR stunt.
Also, if the PK trailers are anything to go by, Khan sports just one expression which can be traced back to Johnny Lever from his hey days. Maybe, the pant drop was actually a good idea in that case.
