"Ah" Khushi let out a hiss.
It was a chilly but a dull and wearisome morning for Khushi. She had spent the night just thinking about Dhruv's death. More than grief, it was a blow for her...his sudden demise and it was still a little difficult to digest that he was no more in her life.
That means she is free now on wards. She is free of this hateful, soulless forceful marriage. She could be able to spend her rest of the life peacefully.
The monster was out of life. No tortures, no misery and no more suffering which she doesn't and never deserved.
Khushi sighed and tried to get up but failed as her limbs were drained of all energy. It was the result of not having anything to eat yesterday.
She was so stressed and depressed, that she refused to fill her stomach. It's not because she was sad or grieved over his death but just she couldn't take the blow.
But somewhere in the corner of her heart, she was...maybe a li'l sorrowful because it was hurting to see the family members, who are so tender and good-natured, so broken and shattered. They didn't deserve this much pain.
They were unaware of his true colors but still...he was their love and his death is surely a heartache for all of them.
Khushi laid back and closed her eyes and massaged her temples. Her head was throbbing with a wild pain.

It seemed as if quietude and stillness has found their place in The Raizada Mansion. Everyone was silent and hushed on the breakfast table. Their elbows resting on the table and the sliced fruits were rotting away as no one paid attention to them.
Shyam looked at everyone and sighed, shaking his head a li'l. Suppressing a smile on his face, he started.
"Come on...let's start. I am sure no one would love to eat those cold and rotten apples" Shyam spoke and everyone glanced at him.
"Rani Sahiba...You haven't finished your juice yet. Hurry up" he said, handing the glass to her.
Anjali tried to say something but stopped and stared at the Juice.
"Hari Kaka...Can you please bring some puris? Mami Ji won't eat those hardened and stiff puris now" Shyam shouted politely.
"No. I'm not hungry" Manorma stated and looked away.
Shyam looked at Manohar and then at Aakash and Aakash instantly got what he meant. Aakash looked at his mother and then at everyone.
"The parathas look yummy" Aakash said aloud and smiled at Hari Prakash, who came there.
"Good Job Hari Kaka" Shyam spoke and again glanced at everyone.
Manohar shook his head, disappointed. There was only gloominess on everyone's face. Shyam turned towards Anjali and whispered.
"Rani Sahiba?" Anjali looked up at him slowly and he directed his gaze at her glass of juice which was still untouched.
Anjali gave a helpless look to him and that's when Arnav reached there.
"Good, even Saale Saab is here"Shyam smiled at him and Arnav after smiling back at Shyam, looked at everyone's gloomy faces.
"Khushi Ji is still not out of her room" Anjali muttered and got up catching everyone's attention.
"I'll go and check on her" She said and tucking her hair behind her ear and before anyone could stop her, she rushed upstairs.
Deviyani sighed and pushed the plate away.
"Bechari hamari Khushi Bitya" She almost cried and Arnav slowly sat on the empty chair beside her.
"I feel miserable for her" she added and Manorma rolled her eyes at the statement. She was not a percent feeling anything for Khushi because somehow she had started believing in Rekha's words.
She truly seemed a bad omen for her family.
"It had been just a week to her marriage and..now...No one can understand her pain. The poor girl is suffering so much at such a young age" Deviyani cried.
Arnav kept his gaze down as if her words started infecting him.
"What can be more painful than losing your husband just after some days of your marriage? Abhii to Khushi bitya ki mehendi ka rang bhi naahi utra tha ki...ee sab dekhna padi gawa..." Deviyani sniffed wiping her tears.
Arnav gulped painfully.
He got up from his seat and went behind Deviyani pressing on her shoulders, trying to console her.
"You have to stay strong Nani, for us, for Anjali, for Bhabhi..." Arnav said.
"And..why are you worrying? We are here here. Everyone is here to support Bhabhi and give her the needed comfort and consolation. Ain't we?" Deviyani nodded slowly.

"Khushi Ji..." Khushi looked up and found Anjali standing on the threshold and now approaching her.
Khushi scrunched her eyes as the headache was just getting intense.
"Are you alright Khushi Ji?" asked Anjali who was now sat beside her. She touched her forehead and looked at her concernedly.
"Aap ko to bukhaar hai" she said.
"Kal kuchh khaaya jo nahi isliye" she said annoyed.
Khushi remained silent with downcast eyes. Anjali stared at her and then her eyes welled up slowly.
"Khushi Ji" she whispered in a broken tone and moving closer to her, she pulled her into a bear hug, enveloping her in her arms.
Khushi narrowed her gaze confusedly and then as if she understood her move, she hesitantly wrapped her arms around her waist and hugged her back.
Anjali sniffed and rubbed Khushi's back and caressed her hair. She was feeling extremely downhearted and sorrowful for her.Khushi pursed her lips and scrunched her eyes, letting a tear escape her eyes feeling the same for Anjali.
And the most strange and hurting thing was that everyone in the mansion thinks that she is depressed over Dhruv's death but it wasn't that exactly.
She was trying to come out of the shock and that's it.
Anjali pulled back and wiping her tears, she cupped Khushi's face.
"Are you alright?" she asked again.
Khushi was about to nod but Anjali interrupted.
"Hum bhi budhhu hai,...kaisa ajeeb sa sawal puchh rahe hain" she muttered shaking her head over her foolishness.
"We all are with you Khushi Ji" said Anjali still cupping her face and Khushi nodded slowly, staring down at the white color bed sheet.
"Hume to abhi bhi yakeen nahi aata k..." Anjali pursed her lips trying to suppress her sobs.
Even the thought sent shivers down her spine. She loved Dhruv just like his own brother.
"I-"
"I'm sorry" Khushi whispered and Anjali looked up at her confusedly.
"I'm sorry" Khushi repeated because somewhere, she was still blaming herself for Dhruv's death thinking that it was maybe a result of her prayer. But isn't a stupid thought?
"What's wrong?" Why are you apologizing?" Anjali wiped her tears and caressed Khushi's hair.
Khushi just wiped that lone tear and shook her head.
"Don't do this" Anjali whispered and hugged her again.
Khushi closed her eyes feeling that throbbing headache and rested her head on Anjali's shoulders.
"I-i can understand your pain Khushi Ji. I know you're suffering and you really don't deserve it but..." she trailed silent.
Khushi kept quiet and sighed. She was feeling a li'l guilty of making everyone think so utterly wrong.
She bit her lips and snuggled in Anjali's arms because Anjali was just as her elder sister which she never had one and it did give her a pleasurable feeling as she just tried to soothe her pain, which doesn't really exist.
Shyam and Arnav watched the entire scene, hiding behind the door. Shyam smiled and glanced at Arnav whose gaze was fixed on Khushi and was lost in deep thoughts.

'Two days later'
"Aren't you and Chote-" Deviyani couldn't speak further as Aakash butted in.
"No Dadi..we aren't in a mood to go Campus even today" Aakash replied and Deviyani nodded sadly.
"We are going" said Arnav upon reaching there.
"But Bhai-"
"No Aakash...I know it's difficult and no one has come over but one has to move on and why not we both, you and I make a start" said Arnav and Aakash kept quiet.
"We must go.." Arnav raised an eyebrow and looked at Deviyani who smiled and nodded her head.
"Chote's right" said Deviyani and caressed Arnav's and Aakash's face.
Arnav smiled too and looked away with a sigh. He just wanted everything back to normal because the kind of atmosphere in the mansion was affecting everyone's lives and he was sure that Dhruv would have never wanted this, if he'd have been alive

Khushi was standing by the poolside alone, staring at the greenery. Her arms folded and her hair left open.
"Hi" Khushi heard Shyam's voice and turned her head back and found him approaching her.
And Khushi acknowledged his Hi' with a nod. Shyam gave a faint smile and stood beside her. Khushi glanced at him and stared back at the water in the pool.
"You find it hard to believe..Don't you?" his question caught her total attention.
Khushi nodded slowly.
"Because...monsters don't die so easily" Khushi whispered.
Shyam's lips pulled up in a sarcastic manner.
"You seem sad..but" he said..
Khushi nodded again.
"Dhruv's..."
"I don't know..."
"I mean..i don't know, i feel guilty sometimes..." Khushi turned towards him, plastering a totally confused expression on her face.
"Guilty?"
"You know, I wished for Dhruv to be far away from me...but- but not in this way Jeeja Ji...I..i feel strange" Khushi shook her head.
Shyam scrunched his eyes and chuckled.
"Are you serious Khushi?" he asked.
"You-"
"I know..i know it's stupid to think like this...but whenever i see Di, or Arnav or Nani..i seriously feel guilty seeing them so down-hearted. They are so good and they just don't deserve this pain"
"They think that my condition has become miserable after Dhruv's death but it's not like that...don't you think it's a lie. Shall i tell them everything?" asked Khushi.
"I can understand you Khushi Ji but believe me you don't have to assume yourself culpable or something Khushi Ji...Everything that happened is from God's side and i'm sure, your Devi Maiyya has planned something else for you. You don't have to get worried and blame yourself" completed Shyam and Khushi just stared at him, trying to understand his words.
Shyam wasn't wrong of course.
Khushi nodded again.
"You don't have to feel guilty" Khushi nodded again, staring down at her slippers.
Shyam smiled and patting her shoulders, he left.

"Good Night Bhai" Arnav smiled at Aakash and waving his hand sleepily, he moved towards his room but stopped and glancing around once, he took some steps back.
Arnav was about to knock on the door but halted when his gaze fell on a sleeping Khushi, near the french doors.
Her knees up to her chin, and her head resting against the glass door. Arnav tiptoed inside the room and looked at Khushi before kneeling down beside her.
His heart clenched with pain looking at her, clad in a white saree. He closed his fist and his eyes in agony and anguish.
He wished he could do something for her.
For everyone in the mansion. It hurts him seeing everyone hurt and he wants to do something to bring smiles back on everyone's faces.
But he was finding his own self helpless. He has advised everyone at home to move on but he himself is stuck.
"Arnav" he opened his eyes when he heard Khushi call him.
Khushi tucked her hair strands behind her ear and looked at Arnav confusedly, sitting straight.
Arnav opened his mouth but closed it, still looking at Khushi..not understanding how to start.
"Do you want something?' Khushi asked, rubbing her eyes.
She didn't realize when she slept on the floor while thinking about her complicated life and pondering over Shyam's advice.
"Urh..No.." Arnav muttered and roamed his eyes here and there when his eyes caught Dhruv's Photo frame on a far table.
Khushi stalked his gaze and then looked down. Arnav too averted his gaze away feeling low again.
"How's your headache now?" asked Arnav and Khushi furrowed her brows before realizing. She had lied to everyone in the morning about the headache coz she just wanted to be alone for some time.
"Better" she replied with a faint smile.
Arnav nodded.
"Urm...You want to say something?" Khushi asked.
"Yes...actually, i just want you to say that...We are always beside you Bhabhi. Never ever feel yourself alone" he said.
A small but a genuine smile broke out on khushi's lips. The next second Khushi, realized that after her marriage with Dhruv, it was the first time, she was smiling by heart otherwise she had always faked them.
Khushi blinked her eyes slowly and stared at Arnav...he really made her feel good and light by his simple words.
"I know" Khushi replied and Arnav nodded with a smile.
"You should get up. it's cold here" Arnav said.
"Yeah" Khushi muttered and got up.
"Good Night Bhabhi"
"Good Night Arnav" Khushi replied and closed the doors.
