How are you feeling now that Bang Bang! has done so well?
(Grins) I'm feeling great. I've received this kind of applause for a film after a long time.
What kind do you mean?
I received this kind of positive feedback after Dhoom 2. I've played this kind of a character after a while and this is what I wanted to do, actually.
So the reactions of the critics haven't affected you?
No. My objective has been achieved. So it's okay if I haven't been able to please every single person in the world. You can't please everyone anyway. You respect their opinion. But you have to remember that an opinion is an opinion. It's not the truth. My truth is what I live by. So I'm happy.
What about those who said that they didn't expect a film like Bang Bang! from Hrithik Roshan?
Bang Bang! has made tons of money. At different times in your life you want to do different things. Variety is important. If I continue to do films like Guzaarish, which I'm so proud of, you'll probably wonder why I'm not doing films like Bang Bang!. So you've always got to keep it exciting.
That's why a Mohenjo Daro...
Yeah, it's another extreme. It'll be fun because I enjoy doing things that aren't conventional. When I signed Bang Bang!, it wasn't something that was expected out of me. I love surprising myself and my audience. And Ashutosh Gowariker's Mohenjo Daro is going to be a fantastic surprise.
