I completely disagree. I think votes should be based on who sang best. Just because someone is untrained and sings well, does not mean that one gives them sympathy votes. Last year the same thing happened, Karunya was the more technically superior and better singer, but Sandeep won. Why? Because people reasoned out that Sandeep sings well inspite of not being as trained as Karunya.And then what happened, where is Sandeep now?
We are in Indian Idol 3 but people still remember Abhijeet Sawant- that's how an Indian Idol should be. I don't think there has been a gala or in the piano round till now in which Prashant has been the best, but there have been galas in which Emon, Puja, Deepali, Amit, Ankita and Chang have stood out among the others. So Unless Prashant outdoes the others in his singing and performance, it would be wrong to say that he should be the next Indian Idol.
