No man, and I repeat, NO MAN, on Indian Telly has evoked such powerful reactions from the audience, as Raman has...he is probably the ONLY actor who has emoted vulnerability, conflict, angst, at the same time..and so well at that!! I absolutely LOATHE the stupid guilt trip he is going on and on about since the last so many days...I mean its quite disturbing and disappointing to see this stupid guilt track introduced, with oodles and oodles of self-pity and SRK-ish "puppy-eyed" looks galore..Why now??? When they both seemed to have emerged stronger from all the MISHASHOK drama?
Why now after desire was etched fair and square on their faces during the Manwa Lage sequence, the 'Buddha Mil Gaya' cringeworthy song and dance drama, the time he saved her and fought off the creeps during Shaggy's hen-party drama? After the PRAVACHAN he handed out to Mihir after the Mihika-Ashok fiasco, mouthing crappy lines like "do you know how lucky we are to have such women in our lives?"...Why did the CVs have to undo everything and make him an SRK prototype along the lines of DDLJ, KKHH, and countless other movies where SRK gets beaten up, bloodied and badgered, all in the name of love..and all the while, with a puppy dog, self-pity, victimised look on his face????
Crappy lines like "mujhe tumse door jaana hi hoga", "kabhi kabhi kisi ki khushi ke use door jana padta hai", "mere jaate hi tumhare dukh door ho jayenge' made me cringe. CRINGE. Even a powerful, spontaneous, drop-dead gorgeous actor like KP couldn't save the day with those shitty lines...I only happened to love him when he burst out crying after Toshi ji left. I mean HOW can an actor be so spot-on with his emotions? With his expressions??? My heart really, really went out to him. I wanted to so badly hug and comfort him!! Toshi ji, as always, plays RKB's mother to perfection. That's how mothers are really...intuitive and soo soo protective!
Ishita looking at the yellow shirt longingly, and saying the magic words to the SHIRT, didn't do it for me...DT just didn't sound convincing...somehow, it lacked the punch that these words should lend, the way uttering them in itself can make the stomach do somersaults...DT looked and sounded stupid and fake, sorry, she didnt cause my heart to flutter like it grew wings...
However, I am happy to note that just like Simmi overgrew a brain OVERNIGHT, so has Ishita developed a heart, she has a longing to meet her husband, see him, speak to him.. That is an achievement YHM has managed to score after about a year of this show being aired...I mean, CVs have finally decided to portray Ishita as a normal woman who finally has time for her husband...who finally finds RKB HOT, desirable, and worth being made love to...She finally expresses out loud that she is going to miss him when he's off to Singapore, that she longs to see him and tell him those magic words...
For a change, we see Ishita waiting on Raman, lighting candles in his yaad and all, setting up the scene for romance, looking at the wall clock back and forth, and blushing when being teased about everybody going to Singapore to meet Raman. For a change, we see Ishita, behave like a normal needy woman, texting to make small talk, texting to find out when her husband is going to be back...That's a relief...but behaving like a total goner, writing ridiculous letters to Raman..was SO OUT OF CHARACTER for Ishita.
This is a grudge with the CVs I've had since the IshMANI track..they can't seem to make up their minds as to how they want to portray the female lead...thruout the show...barring a few privileged occasions, they persistently showed Ishita as Devi Maiyya, Mother India, a interfering busybody, with enough time on her hands to hand out speeches and pravachans written specifically for each occasion..and now,
SUDDENLY, we are expected to hear her out and take her seriously, because the CVs thought "writing a love letter to your husband to express your love, when you've never thought of him even as an entity in the household for a million ages, is a perfect way to showcase true love". Wow. And so, when she sighs like she just read Playboy and wanted to jump the gun with Raman, it annoyed me a bit, to see how she could vaccillate between "cheee" "ewww" "aap jaanwar ho gaye ho" to all those heavy-bosomed longings!
I was busy cranking my nose up and down with Ish-MANI's conversation. MANI aka Sumeet is a BAD ACTOR WITH MONOTONE EXPRESSIONS. Period. Why the force-fed gyaan to Ishita about how she should confess her love to raman? Why the fake laughter? And Why the COMPLETE non-jokes like " silent ho jao nahin toh main violent ho jaaungi?" A bad attempt on the part of CVs to just introduce a third angle to make it all about drama...MANI had conveniently disappeared from the scene for a good month or so...a pathetic attempt to make it seem like Raman's j0urney of self-pity, guilt and sacrifice is all worth it, when it is CLEARLY not.
Ishita Bhalla finally remembers she is a DENTIST. She actually mentions that she is a doctor/dentist twice over, during the episode. The CVs are clearly trying to do some damage control. Though DT was good in bits and parts, I was expecting some more fervour and more genuineness with the track leading up to the confession.
Ruhi - I have fallen in love with her AGAIN. She is back to being the clingy, needy, cute and adorable that she was at the beginning of the show. I hope she continues to be this way, without mouthing Daadi Amma dialogues!!
Neel - When will the makers give him a new haircut? Why let him hang on and on with the crappy Devanand hairdo? One cant focus on his lines or his face, when the damn hair keeps falling over his eyes perpetually...not that he acts to save his or our lives, anyway.
Precap - Ishita finally shows some desperation at wanting to be heard by Raman. Now that's how pent-up love should make you feel. Intense, like you couldn't live without saying it out loud. Like everything else could wait... And like the dams are ready to burst open, if let a chance.
