Dear CVs and SS forumwasis,

It has been long since I have written in this forum and the reason, short reason is that I have stopped watching the show. It has been nearly two weeks (probably more) that I haven't seen a single episode of SS and today I feel like writing down why I, my family and a few friends who used to watch this show gave up on it totally. This is strictly my POV and I'm writing this because I followed this show at one point and I want to explain to my friends (Divya, amfi, isle of capri, awida and many others )why.

My disinterest in the show started with the negative characters- Rajeev, Ashta, Nikki, Minty, Alkas FIL, karishma, her father. The negative characters outnumbered the positive ones. I am not against negative characters. I think we can all handle negative characters but having dozens of negative characters with truckloads of negativity is not my cup of tea.

I liked Minty's character in the beginning. Even when Minty was against Devyani, it was understandable but when she planned the engagement fiasco, I could relate to Minty as much as a human can relate to zombies. What mother does that to her own children? Even in the name of revenge the plot made as much sense as a two year olds scribbling. Secondly when Minty started with the whole I hate shastri sisters because they steal my thunder', I was like, "really woman, how old are you? 5???"

And despite of that I found myself near that damned idiot box exactly at 6:59 IST. And then came that Karishma and her dad's entry articles both being negative characters and the promo regarding the whole karishma blaming anu for the lost CD and I was like- screw it! I have better things to do in life I ignored that fact that Minty's character took such a downward drift, I ignored that till this day I couldn't figure out Ashta's real irritation towards Alka, I ignored the fact that for the SS, the solution for every problem is to take a video and for the negative character to delete it, I watched the show but when the karishma entry happened I couldn't relate to anything- the plot or the characters.

Oh yea Karishma was a spoiled brat who got everything she demanded for and she wanted Rajat and she fought ugly to get him yada yada yada. Rajat apparently loved Anu but when she was blamed he believed it. Mister if you loved her, really loved her, it should have taken more than finding a cd to convince you. And Anu is marrying someone who thinks you have stolen the cd such a good idea? I mean this would be the kind of marriage you would expect to see knocking the doors of divorce courts three years down the line.

I remember a serial I had seen, hamsafar by name. A Pakistani serial which has, till date, remained in my heart, intact and unforgotten. In that serial, the best friend (the vamp) of the hero who loves him and wrongs the female lead (with the help of supporting characters) blaming the heroine of adultery, causing the hero to leave the heroine. The heroine gives birth to a child alone and only contacts the hero for monetary help when the child is ill. In the end, it is shown how much the hero regrets but also that things would never really be the same. The vamp commits suicide after her plans failing so badly and not able to face life anymore. I could relate to the hero blaming heroine because the seed of doubt was planted by his mom. I could relate to the heroine because she didn't worship the ground the hero walked on and promptly got over him- almost. I could relate to the negative character too because she wasn't just someone who oozed poison because it would spice up the plotline. She had reasons , strong emotional reasons then mere spite.

Karishma whom Rajat had once rejected decides after two days of meeting him that she wants him back and that too to marry despite of knowing that he loves somebody else and goes ahead to break the marriage. How many people you know do that?? Karishma whose mother speaks of morals and sanskars , has a daughter with the morals of an alley cat? She acts as if she can unveil lies and judge people but couldn't she see that her husband is corrupt and her daughter is selfish? Cvs why aren't you people showing actors with consistent behavioural traits?

At the rate you are going, I wouldn't be surprised if you show Anu turning negative as the next major twist to the story because I guess too much positivity isn't good for health and it is necessary to show the characters affected by schizophrenia to make them believable, right?

I don't know if I am off SS or this is a mere hiatus till a sensible plot crops up but till the time I'm off this serial, good bye!!!

A once loyal SS follower

Super post Aashti.
I can't blame you for stopping watching the show, coz I too felt disappointed after turning Devyani to a selfish girl. In fact I was bored before this coz cvs focused more on Alka's drama. But Karishma was the worst thing that happened to the show . She can't act. She is irritating.

I too stopped watching SS since 25th October due to web problems. I just watch some scenes specially AnuRaj's . They are the best. I love them sooo much. They look perfect as lovers. They set screen on fire.

When I watch a show I don't search for logic. So I welcome twists and turns ..but too much negativity just to stop AnuRaj's love story from reaching marriage stage. This spoiled my mood. I think many ppl fell in love and can't marry due to their parent's refusal. So Minti is enough to stop AnuRaj. Also Devyani's heart break. Cvs could move on showing Anu and Dev challenges in collage. Rajat trying to convince his mom to accept Anu. Any thing that make the story stronger and more believable.

About Humsafar. Yes it is a good show I watched it ..it wasn't dragged so it was strong . If Pakistani shows has to run for years we might nt watch a Humsafar!

Plz Aashti . Think again about quitting. Coz we love you. You are a great writer. Your views are very powerful. And we love reading your FFs.

This forum has a great group of friends for them I am not leaving even though I am not able to watch SS properly.

You know awida its not merely about logic or a dragged script, it is a belief of the writers that a show cannot survive without truck heaps of negativity. They could have made the script much more better, fuller and meaningful. They could have shown Anu realizing the importance of Rajat without Rajat throwing that drama with Karishma. Had they to show the cd thing with Rajat blaming Anu, they could have shown Anu merely proving her innocence while Rajat having to make up for the lack of trust. They could have shown the maturity of AnuRaj relationship from realization of love to trust to understanding to much much more...
They are focusing so much on the negativity that the leads are lost in the battles of proving themselves and we are struck with the karishmas of the world with screechy voices and evil laughs while positivism is something that is gone with the wind with no scope to catch it

101% agree with you Aashti...the negative characters overtaking the positive characters has completely ruin this show...the show began to lose its charms after the Diwali episodes...Minty starting to doubt about Anuraj relationship, Nicky entry, Neil suicide attempt and above all Dev getting jealous of Anu and her drooling over Rajat ...😡and our Mahaan Madam Anushka sacrificing her love for the happiness of her family...😲
But, the worst was to come with the entry of Karishma who is such an irritating and annoying character... she looks so manly and her acting is so puck-worthy...I just skip her scenes because I can't tolerate her on my screen😡...Now with the entry of her father...another negative character who will surely create problems in Anuraj life...I will wait and see how the story will unfold after Anuraj marriage...if ever there is a wedding...

If Anuraj are together I will continue to watch SS...but, if cvs separate them I will also quit ...because I watch this show only for Anuraj sizzling chemistry and mind-blowing acting ...they are such great actors that their scenes seem so real onscreen😳❤️

One request...please don't quit...wait until Anuraj wedding drama...by next week we'll get an idea how the story will unfold and then you decide...and we will quit together...😉

I will continue to update my FF where Anuraj will always be together forever and ever and have a happy happy marriage life with a couple of children... .😳😆

Good post aashti. I totally agree with you. I know it's important to increase the TRP but they could've have shown so much more realistic things. They've just ruined their characters big time, especially showing Rajat to be this stupid and Minti to be so evil. No consistency what-so-ever. 😕
Literally, the only reason I'm watching this is because I need to watch something as I have my coffee when I'm back from University after a long dayy. 🤪Lol

Well said Aashti. The current track is just too depressing. I thought after the engagement drama we would get to see some sweet and romantic moments between Anu and Rajat with Rajat tring to win Anu back with his love. Bringing Karishma in to the mix is the biggest mistake the CVs have made.

I too have not watched a single episode since last week. But I am glad I am not the only one who feels this way.

Completely agree. You've summarized my feelings perfectly as I have also stopped watching the show. The Karishma track is so illogical and makes no sense. I don't know where the CVs are going with this. Honestly, the CVs had such a great chance to make the show interesting after Devyani finding out the truth of Rajat and her engagement and Anusha rejecting Rajat. The entry of Karishma was not needed. I feel like these CVs don't know how to make a story without including an ever present love triangle. And Pia's character isn't even used for anything! The actress has gotten such a raw deal!

The CVs really missed so many opportunities and the end result is a boring, illogical show.

a bang on post...
i have always taken pride in the fact that i can watch the shittiest tracks , if at all i get hooked to a show, which is quite rare..however this show just managed to make me feel disillusioned and give up any hope of reviving its faltering TRP due to its mindless logic, regressive tracks and overdose of negative characters... i have stopped watching this show..and i doubt if this show could get back its original charm and make me hooked to it again

I left the show months ago... When the first sister got married and her ex boyfriend came to town. I always felt an over all sense of negativity after watching the show and hence had decided to quit way back. Several months down the line... Here I am... Wondering if the decision was correct and I get to read you post.
It is unfortunate, the show has an overall negative vibe.
