Now from Fri epi it is sure that Shaurya has started on the path of self destruction. His plan to kidnap Payal has backfired. Payal going from his hands is the beginning of his downfall. Now let us see what each of his friends and what they stand for as far as a person is concerned.
Rishi- He stands for a man's conscience. Shaurya bullying Rishi is the way of showing how a man silences his conscience by abusing it and telling it that if he listens to it he will be termed a coward. Conscience always asks a man to accept the mistake and serve punishment for it. But when the man keeps on silencing it and after a certain point when he reaches the path of self destruction the first thing a man loses is his conscience. I mean the humanity in him that asks " Am I doing the right thing". So in the show too Rishi is the first one to walk out on Shaurya and telling the enemy camp. I accept my crime and willing to take punishment
Karan- He stands for a man's fear. If something stops a man from committing crimes after conscience it is fear. Difference between conscience and fear is that conscience is ready to accept mistake and take punishment. Whereas fear wants to hide the crime only thing is that it does want to make more crimes afraid of punishment. Fear is more about " Will I get caught". Shaurya bullying Karan is the symbolism of he trying to kill the fear. When you kill the fear you feel invincible , you feel nothing can stop you or be a problem in whatever you want to do. Once fear goes from the system a man becomes a monster. Somehow I feel next in line is Karan and most probably Karan will die
Tarun- Tarun is that faithful servant that obeys master. It doesn't think whether the master is doing right or wrong. As long as master is with him he is fine doing anything with the master. Just like the servant who doesn't have an independent ability to think what his master is doing right or wrong and just goes about with him we see Tarun doing things exactly the way Shaurya asks him to do. We don't see him questioning Shaurya at all. But the problem with following master's like Shaurya is that when the question of their own survival comes they will betray the servant. And since Shaurya has already become a monster with both conscience and fear gone in every way he will make Tarun the bait for his own escape, thus losing his loyal friend also.
Then the day of judgement will come. When Shaurya will have none for him. Not a single person to sympathise with him or care for him. Worst punishment will come his way.
Rishi might escape with a lighter sentence, Karan and Tarun might end up getting an easy death, but Shaurya the punishment for him will be harshest and something which he had never imagined and when it comes to him he will be all alone.

Shruthi, after reading your post I thought of putting together the following thoughts about morality and how Shaurya and co represent different degrees of morality.

Each one of us defines what is right or wrong, acceptable or not for us which guides how we go about our lives.

Here is my take on the 4 friends and how they have defined the limits of their morality.

Shaurya- In one word- is a psychopath: He is cold blooded and self-centred. He makes his own rules. If he believes it is right then it is right. He does not learn from his / others' mistakes, has no respect for rules and authority. No emotional connections with others- not even his mother who went to great lengths to protect him from the law. He has no empathy or understanding of others. He is intelligent enough to use others to meet meet his own ends. He has no regrets for his evil acts as he does not see them as evil or wrong. Moral development =0

Karan suffers from a poverty of morality. He is the least evolved in terms of his intellectual, emotional and moral growth. His sense of right and wrong is based on a very basic pleasure- pain principle' and the law of immediate effects'.

What gives pleasure to Karan= right

What gives pain to Karan= wrong

He will go after anything that gives him immediate pleasure and comfort and will run away from everything that is painful and causes fear and stress.

He does not engage his brain and has no sense of morality whatsoever to throw into the mix. He does not therefore think about the short and long term consequences for himself or others.

Tarun- I have not seen much of him- but he is someone who has his own best interests at the forefront. He does seem to use his brain but only to work out how to make very situation work to his advantage. This includes enjoying the benefits of Shaurya's rule breaking and crimes. He may not initiate evil acts but will join in and participate. He will go to any extent to serve his own interests and protect himself- he will follow Shaurya's orders when Shaurya rules and will abandon him without a second thought when Shaurya falls. He is a master self-preservator-his sense of morality hangs on this principle.

Rishi- has a conscience which was buried away for a long time perhaps as he was not strong enough with his own sense of identity . He was easily swayed and lead astray after falling into bad company. He operated on the level of self-preservation for a long time but has slowly woken up his conscience from its deep slumber given the recent plans of Shaurya; He must have experienced the most moral conflict and must have been torn between doing the 'right' thing and doing the 'safest' thing for himself. He is gradually moving out of the self-preservation mode and has begun to think about impact on others- showing signs of growth along the spectrum of morality.

A lot of our actions or inactions are based on how much we value looking after our own interests vs the willingness to bear the costs of compromising this in the interest of others.

@bangles Tarun I am not sure how self preservative he is. I have seen him following Shaurya only. he never qeustions any of Shaurya'a act unlike Rishi who qeustions and even Karan who was afraid to plan Dev's murder.
Tarun I have not seen doing anything to stop Shaurya. It is as if Shaurya thinks right it is right and he does not have to worry. Shaurya will take care.
But as you rightly said this is one guy who has not been shown much and would love to see how they are taking him down.
