I wonder if anyone here knows deeply about the Pak telly industry. Do they do a pilot and then shoot the rest.
Shows are telecast everyday or weekly? I bet it's a much better working environment for the actors especially. Here we often hear how the Indian telly actors have to work 18-22 hours a day everyday almost.

And are these serials really popular there? I mean do the actors make a lot of money? I am just curious lol.

Because the really good actors seem to be cast again and again in different serials.
But here many production houses choose to take new faces who don't even know the ABC of acting as their shows are anyway repetitive with the camera panning out on every face to show even the doodhwala's reaction to mundane things. 😆 This way the producers can make more money as new actors don't command market rates as they are unknown. While established actors demand higher salaries.
Just how much mediocrity Indian audiences have to put up with.

I will share that little knowledge which I have. Most of the drama over here r telecasted once a week so they last in about 4 months. So mostly all the channels have fresh n new shows after quarterly year.

Yes the actors r repeated but the dramas shown on zindagi are the most popular ones n high rated. We have several other dramas as well and there are many new faces in our industry too. Many of them r doing a good job.

As far as the pay n schedule of the actors r concerned I really have no idea about that. But yes the working environment is quite professional.

Well fawad Khan I have heard was the highest paid actor in Pakistan Drama Industry. Don't know what his actual salary is but here actors are paid daily and working for 12 hours as the work hours are reduced now.
But I think I don't know maybe Pak Drama Industry is more professionally organized cause their drama culture is also very different than us.

Television actors are paid really well in Pakistan. Lets just say, television in Pakistan is more or less equivalent to what Bollywood is in India. Also, drama serials (those which consist of 20 or so episodes such as ZGH etc) are aired once a week. There are also a few soaps that air here and there on channels, and those usually are pretty long. They air on a daily basis..but just the soaps (Kaash Mein Teri Beti Na Hoti which Zindagi aired is an example of a soap which aired daily). The bigger actors/stars do not act in soaps. They're the ones who act in drama serials and yes, as mentioned get paid very well. The reason why you see Pakistani actors working in more than one drama serial per year is because it takes on average a month or two to shoot one drama serial which should consist of 23 or so episodes. They have room to shoot for more shows if they want to, do a film or even host a talk show on the side. Morning talk shows bring in a lot of money as well. Some actors such as Sanam Baloch, Fahad Mustafa and Faisal Qureshi have done that and hosting such shows actually brings in more money than acting in a drama serial. That's why Fahad Mustafa who is merely 31 years old has his own production house and is now producing films and television shows..that's more or less because of the money he earned through being a morning show host for two yrs.

One thing I would like to add is the money aspect. It's hardly ever talked about or raved about just as trps. It's mostly in terms of respect not as a competition. Daily Soaps in Pakistan are quite new to the industry and not much followed. A regular tv serial is about 20-25 episodes. That give way to a better life style for a full time or part time actor.

I am glad. They are really good actors so no wonder the quality of shows is so good.
Actors can have a better work life balance too unlike here where actors routinely work for 18-22 hours. And then the really good actors are overlooked for newbies who will charge less.
I think the problem here is with the production houses.

I have seen Sanam B's show on youtube. And there seem to be a lot of other talk shows there too. So here's another peculiarity. Talk shows seem to be quite popular there unlike here.

Hello
our shows are shot first then they are edited then ost is made by combining the scenes n the the drama is aired it is dne this way coz entire script is penned down befor hand and there is no room for new twist and turns so entire serial is shot and edited first and then aired there have been very few eg where a scene or two were shot when serial was laready on air like last scene of humsafar was shot just a week before its finnaly
paki actors are paid like around 3-4 lakh per episode n yeah they earn through commercials and morning shows our morning shows are replica of your serials filled wth naach ganna and over done makeup they were good during Nadia khan's time and sanam jng is a fresh breath these days chalo wthout digressing frm the anymore your thrid qs abt our shooting scheduels its like 3 months usually wth 15 working hours max as we don't have proper sets and usually homes of producers or commenrs are used like humsafar was shot in someones home in mianwali ( a city) hope it helps

you can always ask me any qs regarding our industry i have almost met everyone and knw the industry quite well maybe i'll even work in dramas once i growup fingerscrossed

Wow. Thanks. Pak shows are so good. I feel only out Everest which is on currently is better. Otherwise I rank all Pak shows much higher.

I think the telly industry there is much better for the actors than ours. Better pay, more opportunities for good actors and comfortable working hours.

I saw a few talk shows-one with Sanam B, The shareef show and some others. Seems like talk shows are really popular there.

Great.👍🏼 Good luck and we hope to see you in some dramas too.
I also want to work in serials when I am eligible in a couple of years. but I don't know anyone at all lol.
